Job Description
- Conduct visits to individuals and families, including children, in the community.
- During the visits, handle a first identification (screening) of PSS needs
- Identify the nature and severity of psychosocial/psychological needs through the MHPSS assessment
- Fill the different assessments and referral forms, when required, according to the assessment’s criteria
- Provide psychosocial services based on the informed consent of the beneficiary and adapted to her/his needs, taking into account the limitations of the emergency responses.
- Refer beneficiary to other services when needed
- Identify needs for referrals to other relevant stakeholders and monitor referrals conducted in coordination with the Project Coordinator/ Director.
- Recognize emergency situation or situations that need immediate protection measure and react in consequence making efforts to ensure that beneficiary get the appropriate services
- Maintain complete individual files for each person, including detailed descriptions of services provided and evolution of the case
- Ensure that complete beneficiary pack is properly filled and signed
- Write case studies on beneficiaries and activities of the project
- Respect all guidelines and documentation within the project; keep data records for each individual and group sessions
- Document any protection concerns and report them to your line manager
- Provide any other reports to be made upon line manager request
- Demonstrate an ethics and professional practice
Job Requirement
- University Degree in psychology / IPSO/IAM certificate holder)
- Knowledgeable in and has used the IASC MHPSS and GBV/CP guidelines and best practices as part of their previous work experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible professional experience in humanitarian work, and substantial experience in MHPSS, including in emergencies and in conflict settings.
- Demonstrable technical expertise in the assessment of, and design and delivery of responses to pre-existing and emergency induced MHPSS needs
- Strong organizational and supervisory skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within different cultural environments
- Ability to work within a team structure or in isolation, flexible, and can cope with stressful workloads and working with limited resources
- Ability to travel on short notice to project sites
- English language proficiency is required ; Arabic is an advantage
