At present, it is seeking an exceptional individual to fill the position of Regional Assistant, Information Technology (IT) at its Bamyan Regional Offices – Afghanistan.
Job Description
Job Summary
The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing support to Regional IT Team to manage IT inventory system, database and to provide IT support and services to employees in Bamyan Centre and district offices for better maintaining office network and standalone systems within the region with frequent field visit.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To assist Regional Officer, IT in updating the inventory, database and getting backup of all system, servers, and Data in the region.
- Installation and configuration of Servers (Kaspersky Antivirus server, DATA Server, Domain Controller, Kerio Proxy Server, Printer Server and WSUS Server) updating and monitoring them regularly.
- Responsible for daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly data and system backup of (Shared folders, Servers, network devices, and client computers).
- To make sure that all the servers’ function properly.
- Making sure that all clients Anti-Virus is updated, connected and scanning normally.
- Configuring shared Drives to all client’s computer and making sure that shared drives are secured.
- Maintenance of all computers and printers as per schedule.
- Installing and sharing of printers to client computers.
- Making all new laptops and desktops functional for AKFA staff.
- Creating users, configuring users and managing the quotas of all users.
- To check the all Servers and IT hardware system on daily bases.
- Check internet speed and Servers on daily bases.
- Installation and configuration of operating systems and taking image of computers.
- Receiving all IT equipment from NPO IT and BRO logistic and recording it properly.
- Receiving and giving delivery of IT asset and updating the Database on time.
- To maintain accurate and updated Inventory and database of IT equipment.
- Configuring users outlook and keeping outlook data safe and secure.
- Regularly travel to district offices and camp base offices of AKFA in Bamyan region for solving IT problems, IT equipment’ maintenance and physical verification of IT Asset.
- Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
- To assist Regional Office for providing regular (monthly and yearly) progress reports of IT related activities.
- To carry out the responsibilities of the role in a way which reflects AKF’s commitment to protecting children in accordance with the Child Safeguarding Policy.
Occasional Significant Duties
- Support Regional Coordinator, IT for coordination & integration with NPO IT department for urgent problems.
- Perform any other related task and duty assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirement
Required Qualifications and Experiences
- Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science) with 2 years of experience or Baccalaureate degree (IT Diploma) with 4 years’ experience or equivalent Diploma in IT related field from recognized institutions.
- High computer knowledges of all required programs, certification of MCSE, MCITP, CCNA, Exchange etc.
- Good behavior toward others, Problem Solving, Teamwork, Management and Interpersonal Skills.
- Good Communication and Report Writing Skills in English and one of National/Local Languages (Dari or Pashto).
