Job Description
Job Description:
- Monitoring of targeted public schools and UNICEF-supported Community based Education (CBE), Accelerated Learning Program (ALP), and Early Child Development (ECD) classes at provincial and district levels in coordination and collaboration with respective provincial ASUs, and ZOs;
- Monitoring the implementation of MoE-UNICEF RWP activities and report on children’ access to education, quality learning, and community engagement;
- Ensuring that CBE/ALP/ECD classes are linked to nearby hub (formal) schools through regular spot checks and monitoring, as determined by UNICEF Quality Assurance measures
- Monitoring and documenting transition of CBE/ALP/ECD classes to hub schools;
- Overseeing textbooks’ and Teaching Learning Materials (TLM) supply delivery to planned schools and their distribution to students;
- Conducting regular visits to textbooks warehouses at the PEDs and reporting findings;
- Supervising teachers and students’ attendance in CBE/ALP/ECD classes and reporting status;
- Conducting area assessments to ensure that CBE and ALP classes are established in areas where children have no access to public schools, while reporting issues to PED/ASU, General Directorate of Academic Supervision and Learning Assessment (DGASLA), and ZOs for necessary actions;
- Assuring that School Management Shuras (SMS) have been established and are functioning;
- Preforming skill needs assessment of ASU staff and organizing required capacity development trainings (e.g. planning, data collection, data analysis and monitoring/supervision and reporting);
- Monitoring UNICEF-funded school construction projects to ensure contractors fulfill their work according to their workplan;
- Producing regular field monitoring and performance reports and sharing them with PEDs/ASU UNICEF ZOs, and Welfare Association for the Development of Afghanistan (WADAN);
- Conducting field monitoring visits on Education in Emergency (EiE) programs/projects, as needed,
- Monitoring girls’ schools’ facilities (e.g., sanitation, safe drinking water, boundary walls) and sharing report findings; and
- Performing any duties assigned by GDASLA and UNICEF.
Job Requirement
- University degree in Education, Social Science, Management or any other relevant fields
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience with international/national or government organizations in a similar position preferably in the field of education.
- Strong communication skills especially any past experience of working with people at community level.
- Strong Monitoring, Coordination and Community Mobilization Skills
- Ability to communicate and write in English and operate required Computers programmes at least Ms. Office
- Ability to write monitoring reports
