Job Description

(JOB SCOPE / OBJECTIVES):

Preparing and organizing variety types of data, develop master sheet, creating regular contact with field team to prepare and consolidate Food and Cash for food distribution, and WASH related beneficiaries and activities  data, making sure the consistency and reliability of data, update the database weekly, monthly and quarterly bases.

(MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS / DELIVERABLES):

  • Assist in the design of an appropriate MIS to meet the information needs of ECHO project.
  • Continue in the set-up of a functional database (Share Point) with the support from IT and the MERLI team to ensure all programme and project staff have access to programme data i.e., province, district and village profiles as well as the beneficiary profile.
  • Communicate with programme staff at all levels to develop an effective information sharing system Ensure appropriate guidelines and procedures are in place so that the databases are well managed and can provide timely and accurate information to programme staff.
  • Carry out routine analysis on data collected and provide regular reports to the Head of MERLI department and project team on progress in key areas and indicators identified.
  • Act as data quality backstop and undertake verification of data from field level to ensure quality and credibility of data.
  • Work with AKF MERL Team to develop and manage data visualisation outputs such as dashboards
  • Support M&E officers to appropriately manage and verify data at district level.
  • Assist M&E officers in information management and basic data analysis.
  • Act is focal point for ensuring that output trackers, dashboards and other required data are regularly updated.
  • Assist in analysis of surveys and ensure all information is appropriately shared with technical team for completion of study reports.
  • Ensure data management policies are followed in relation to use of beneficiaries personal data
  • Support in date management of baseline and end line studies. Assist in designing appropriate tools for information collection and orientate teams on these tools as necessary.
  • Accompany and support MERLI team in surveys and studies, when necessary, especially when access to female beneficiaries requires female staff.
  • Assist in translation of new M&E tools and guidelines.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by MERLI Head.

Job Requirement

(SPECIFICATIONS (MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS):

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, e.g. Social Sciences.

Experience: At least 2-3 years of previous M&E work experience with other NGOs or UN agencies.

  • Experience in field data collection
  • Experience in report writing
  • Experience in data management and analysis
  • Experience in data base development

 

Skills: Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking in the local language and in English.

  • Flexible, positive attitude committed, and the ability to deliver with tight deadlines.
  • A team player with skills in providing effective feedback to colleagues and management.
  • Ability to travel inside the country as and when required.

 

Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with digital data gathering tools such as ODK, ActivityInfo, or kobo
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and report writing skills in English
  •  Familiarity with other data analysis or database software and programming languages (such as  access, SPSS, Stata, R, Python) is desirable
  • Data collection and management
  • Good Analytical and Good command over report writing in English
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good level of proficiency in Excel and quantitative analysis
  • Ability to design M&E tools
  • Strong presentation skill

 

 Other Skills: 

  • Time management and ability to prioritise multiple tasks
  • Self-motivated person able to work without close supervision
  • Able to work effectively in a diverse team environment
  • Travelling to far flung areas independently for M&E
