About Asia Community Development Organization (ACDO): Asia Community Development Organization (ACDO) is an Afghan non-governmental, non-political and non-profit humanitarian organization founded in 2014 register with the Government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (GoIRA) under the supervision of the Ministry of Economy (MoEc) with a mission to provide humanitarian and development assistance to the vulnerable, at-risk and underserved people throughout the country. ACDO responds to the needs of disadvantaged and marginalized rural and urban communities by managing and utilizing the available scars resources in a well, efficient, transparent and dignified manner to enhance resilience, boost access to education, ensure food and livelihood security, and promote social protection and inclusion. ACDO has active presence at least in nine provinces in five regions of the country and intends to expand its operations to the remaining provinces as well with the aim to transform itself into a leading and developed organization which will deliver to and support significant number of people who had been affected by the long protracted and sudden on-set emergencies in Afghanistan. Regardless of the hardest circumstances that existed in Afghanistan in last few years, ACDO has managed to deliver humanitarian and development assistance in Balkh, Bamyan, Daykundi, Farah, Herat, Jouzjan, Kabul, Kandahar, Kunduz, Laghman, Nangarhar, Paktia, Takhar, and Wardak provinces. Job Overview: The Education Officer will help to implement and monitor ACDO Education Project at all districts in Laghman province. The aim of ACDO’s Education program is to enable vulnerable, displaced, returnee and host communities’ children and youth to have access to quality education in a protective environment. Education in Emergencies (EiE) including Community Based Education(CBE) is the main component of our Education project in Laghman province. Furthermore, ACDO is working to enroll out of school children (OOSC) to the CBCs, to support vulnerable children in public/government schools and to strengthen their capacity to host displaced, returnee and host community out of school children to have access to safe and protected basic education.
Job Description
- Support the Executive Team in developing the project concept notes, proposals and strategic and programmatic documents.
- Undertake active role on quality implementation of education activities including Community Based Education (CBE), School Improvement Plan (SIP), and Education First Phase Response (EFPR).
- Take active role in community mobilizations/community sensitizations to increase community participation in project implementation through engaging them in activities and interventions.
- Carry out regular monitoring of project implementation especially CBE classes, School Improvement Plan (SIP) activities and organizing joint monitoring with DEDs /PEDs staff.
- Ensure child friendly space and learning atmosphere is established and maintained in all CBE classes and provide support to CBE teacher on their professional/academic life.
- Ensure all required teaching and learning materials (TLMs) are provided and available in CBE classes and/or relevant public schools.
- Provide specific technical support, analysis and feedback to ACDO representatives in coordination forums.
- Review and verify and contribute to reports and provide summary of improvements/challenges/gaps for education team leader/coordinator.
- Advocate for program and beneficiaries through development of case studies/success stories and to establish them in relevant resources.
- Establish and maintain productive work relationship and coordinate activities with the Ministry of Education (MoE) and relevant provincial/district/hub school officials on provincial level.
- Conduct capacity building trainings for CBE teachers, school management shura (SMS) members and prepare relevant reports.
- Prepare agenda for all trainings, and meetings with project stakeholder including teachers, hub schools, SMSs, PEDs/DEDs.
- Facilitate hand over process of CBE classes to hub schools and ensure that all required documents are provided according to the CBE policy.
- Doing budget estimations and raising Purchase Requests (PRs) for trainings, workshops, meetings and other planned events.
- Implement plan of action for delegated portfolio of Education projects (activities, budget and project documentation).
- Assess, promote and document ideas for technical improvement and further program development options.
- Cooperate with support unit staff on recruitments, procurements, contracts, payments and stock management.
- Support senior management team (SMT) in overall implementation of project components and any other tasks to him/her.
- Any other related task as assigned by line manager and/or Senior Management Team (SMT).
Job Requirement
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Management
- Master degree with 5 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor degree with 7 years of relevant experience
- Experience in the relevant or similar position in humanitarian projects is required
- Experience in proposal development will be a plus point

- Fluent oral and written skills in English;
