Job Description
Purpose of the Job:
The Enterprise Officer will work under the direct supervision of the project manager, regional manager, program manager. The Enterprise officer will conduct a rapid assessment to determine existing women and youth-led micro-enterprises, groups. The Action will target women and youth-led groups that community elders verify as residents of target areas, have basic skills but needs upscaling of their craftsmanship, and are allowed by their family to participate in training sessions. Enterprise officers will technically support these groups, and support will include business training, coaching, mentoring marketing, and market linkages. Furthermore, the post holder assists local private sector development through technical and financial support to informal and formal businesses, community-led enterprises, and expansion to new markets.
Scope of Work:
- Planning and conducting a data collection for the selection of beneficiaries according to the eligibility criteria.
- Conduct a rapid assessment to determine existing women and youth-led micro-enterprises, groups.
- Select target women and youth-led groups that community elders verify as residents of target areas, have basic skills but need upscaling of their craftsmanship, and are allowed by their families to participate in training sessions.
- Train and provide technical assistance to these groups, and support will include business training, coaching, mentoring marketing, and market linkages as well management of cash distribution.
- Provide training on business, coaching, mentoring, marketing, and market linkages to women and youth-led micro-enterprises groups
- Assists local private sector development through technical and financial support to informal & formal businesses, community-led enterprises, and expansion to new markets.
- Conduct a market assessment utilizing the UNHCR multi-sector market assessment toolkit to determine the condition of the local market and inform the most appropriate cash and voucher assistance intervention.
- Conduct regular market analyses and continuously monitor market prices and availability of the demanded food and non-food items.
- Support Local livelihoods and economic activities through cash-for-work (CfW) and cash-for market (CfM).
- Support, design, formulation, and implementation of the enterprise development projects;
- Identify opportunities under ICRA project in the areas of enterprise development in Balkh ( Chemtal and Charbolak districts) and Samangan ( Dara-e Saf Bala and Dara-e-Saf Payeen districts )provinces.
- Manage the project implementation effectively, and timely.
- Assist with the day-to-day management of the enterprise development activities with a view to effectively managing ORD, NCA, and donor resources allocated or mobilized.
- Active participation in an orientation sessions and other capacity-building efforts
- Assisting the project manager in planning for the micro-enterprise group.
- Frequent travel to project sites, in the targeted districts of Balkh and Samangan provinces and fieldwork.
- Regular participation in coordination meetings and staffs meeting held at the provincial or district level
- Provide weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to the project manager
- Perform any other duty in line with these ToR’s as required by the project manager
Job Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, and rural development Master is preferred
- 2 to 6 years of relevant experience with Bachelor
- Good written and verbal Pashto, Dari, and English language skills
- Good reporting skill
- Computer (MS Office package, Kobo) skill
- Ability to work in remote areas
