About SCA: The Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA) has been working in Afghanistan since 1982, presently managing development programs concerning Health, Education, Rural Livelihoods, and Community Governance, with a total annual budget of roughly USD 40 million. The total number of staff is around 5,500. During the last 10 years, SCA has undertaken a change process moving from a primarily humanitarian service delivery approach towards more of a developmental role, putting increasing emphasis on capacity development, rights-based programming, and outcome orientation. Job Description
Scope of Work:
ICT Officer reports directly to the Administration Unit manager and supports him in implementing various ICT-related activities, The incumbent is responsible for day-to-day troubleshooting, and ICT-related documentation as well close support to PRC, Component Workshop, main store, and sub-offices in terms of ICT services.
Main Responsibilities:
- Implementation and Follow-up of the SCA’s ICT policies and guidelines.
- Deploy and maintain Virtual Machines in VMware ESXI and Networking Services
- Deploy and establish VPN (site-to-site) connection through IPsec protocol for remote computers in reliable and secure servers’ connectivity.
- Troubleshooting in the main office and other sub-offices, ICT setup and systems including but not limited to computer network/s & relevant equipment & peripherals, servers, personal computers, printers, multimedia projectors, email accounts & services, wireless routers, network switches, internet equipment’s & connection/s, websites and services, and UPS systems.
- Configuration of Active Directory, RODC Server, remote control/support, Smooth wall firewall, and antivirus installation.
- Handover of ICT items, managing ICT stock, and taking the repairable ICT items to the workshop.
- Back-up of data regularly/systems and maintain a backup for all ICT services and equipment.
- Troubleshooting and protecting the SCA/JRMO network systems against Malwares, Malicious & viruses, along with physical security of the ICT equipment.
- Installation and maintenance of the CCTV Camera regularly monitor network DVR
- Installation and configuration of network point to point (P2P) devices
- Maintain accurate documentation for system installations, configurations, upgrades, and disaster recovery activities.
- Travel to assist field and project offices whenever assistance is required in the administration, installation, and implementation of smooth-wall systems in their relevant offices.
- Closely monitor all internet Service Provider internet connections to check the quality and reliability of internet service links.
- Preparing training materials and delivering training to JRMO Colleagues whenever software is upgraded.
- To be an active member of the SCA’s ICT team to provide general ICT support to the SCA organization as/if required.
- Any other relevant duties assigned by the line manager.
Job Requirement
- University Degree in a relevant field such as BCS, while a master’s degree will be preferred
- Fluent in Dari, Pashto, and English, written and spoken
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience in ICT is required.
- Active and having troubleshooting skills
- Honest, active, and well mannered
- Ready to work, live and travel in an intricate and strenuous environment
- Being an Afghan citizen
