Job Description
- Offer individual psychosocial counseling to the patients/clients in the related health facilities.
- Proactive awareness raising and psycho-education for the patients/clients of the health facility.
- Perform all tasks in accordance to the ethical criteria of the psychosocial counseling.
- Record all the information on the clients in the registration sheet and compile client files on a daily basis.
- Daily registration of the cases in the Documentation book according to the guidelines.
- Daily writing-up of the cases, using the Documentation-sheets.
- Documentation of the clients and their work (Client registration and psychosocial counseling sessions).
- Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual based reports to related unit.
- Perform community awareness on trauma and psychosocial support.
- Refer patients when needed to more specialized services.
- Engage in self-care through supervision, debriefings, and other shared sessions.
- PSS provider should follow up the cases when there is need.
- S/he should develop action plan for the follow up patients
- S/he should fill the necessary documents to ensure quality reporting
- Perform other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Job Requirement
Degree/Certificate in psychology, counseling, social work, nursing or other related fields
Experience in working as a counselor or ability to be an empathetic counselor
Fluent in Pashtu and Dari languages, written and spoken.
Working knowledge of English is highly desired.
Knowledge of local areas and community structures and prior experience in working in community social/field works
Able to work in a stressful environment and move around with the Mobile Health Team
Good team player
Good written and verbal communication skills, with survivors, communities and professional partners
Able to maintain confidentiality
Able to work independently
Problem solving and conflict resolution skills
Good computers skills, particularly with Ms. Office Programs
Desirable
Psychosocial Counseling Certificate from IPSO is highly desired
Experience in psychosocial activities
Good administrative skills
Experience in working with protection sectors
