ROLE PURPOSE:

We are helping children get a better education, we make it possible for more boys and girls to attend school, we help children protect themselves and influence their own conditions. We work with families, communities and health workers in homes, clinics and hospitals to promote basic health in order to save lives of children and mothers.

The emergency Response Assistant with support from Humanitarian Response Coordinator  will support the implementation of assessment and emergency response activities planned under Save the Children’s HF grant. The post holder along with Humanitarin response Coordinator will closely work with selection of  beneficiaries  in need of humanitarian assistances during assessment and participate in emergency  responses.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY : 
The main areas of accountability and responsibility of this post is to support implementation of the   emergency  assessment and response component of Save the Children’s HF grant in designated province (Balkh). Details are below.

    The Emergency Response Assistant will report and work under the direct supervision of humanitarin Response Coordinator.
    The Emergency Response Assistant will be responsible for providing information and documents of humanitarian and emergency response components and activities from field level.
    He/she will work closely with Humanitarin Response coordinator to implement  emergency assessment and  response  at field level.
    Develop case studies of successes, challenges, and other humanitarian and emergency response project experiences to assist organizational learning.
    He or she will also liaise with humanitrain Provincial teams and work in close coordination with SCI MEAL field staff and relevant provincial departments (INGOs, Government officials).
    In collaboration with the program team and MEAL Units ensure from timely preparation of field monitoring and evaluation of emergency response process.
    He/she will coordinate daily, weekly and monthly work schedules/plan for the humanitarian and emergency response activities in the community and field levels.
    He/she will be responsible for ensuring of gender mainstreaming in humanitarian and emergency response activities.
    Supervise the daily activities of humanitarian and emergency response from targeted groups and communities.
    Ensure that all  the emergency assessments and  responses  are organized in a good manner  at community and filed level.
    With coordination of targeted communities to identify the most people in need of humanitarian assistance  according to  plan and schedule.
    Collect field information and prepare periodic reports for programme activities.
    Ensure the adequate and timely preparation of weekly and monthly reports.
    Provide support for preparing of documents requests to SCI office according to the needs of beneficiaries by close cooperation with logistic and program staff.
    Orient  for all aspects of humanitarian and emergency response for targeted communities.
     coordinate the training of humanitarian and emergency response programs at field level.
    Compile all required data and emergency response reports from field levels.
    Work  with  other SCI provincial teams in emergency situation programs.
    In the event of a new emergency, collect initial information from government, other NGOs and local partners regarding the humanitarian and emergency response issues.

Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning
    Prepare and implement action plan for quality monitoring 
    Mobilizing and Making communities aware on project objectives, outputs and activities and MEAL systems and SCI Child Safeguarding Policies.
    Facilitate project and activities information at all events such as training and workshops
