Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

The primary task is to coordinate activities and communications among Governmental institutions, agencies and organizations and international Airport in Kabul. Act as technical matter experts for the RMO- Technical Support Unit.

  • Services within IEA-Facilitation and organizations
  • Liaises with MOI/- Traffic department MOFA/Ministry of Telecommunications, Customs and other affiliated relevant institutions to maintain good work relationship regarding Licenses, permissions and other related issues for the technical needs.
  • To build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships, facilitate communications and coordinate activities among Governmental agencies, international organizations and Airport facilities.
  • Prepare and deliver verbal and written communications in terms of RMO-TOSU related issues, such as phone calls, face-to-face meetings to relevant governmental institutions and international Organizations
  • Roles and additional responsibilities
  • Acting as contact points for RMO-TOSU;
  • Facilitating meetings and cooperation among RMO-TOSU representatives and relevant Governmental institutions and/facilities, Airports and international organizations;
  • Processing of “Driving Permits” and all affiliated certificates and licences for motor vehicles.
  • Assisting with preparation of freight clearance documentation and handling
  • Filing of documents for the section and performing other general tasks as may be assigned by the Head of Section.
  •  Services within Airport facilities
  • Liaises with Airport (KAIA) personnel to establish and maintain a good work relationship and guarantee access to KAIA and smooth functioning of KAIA airport transportation. Airport Facilitator responsible for meeting on arrival and seeing GIZ staff, affiliated GIZ staff member and officially visitors to the GIZ offices at Kabul International Airport.
  • Serves as first point of contact for arriving GIZ and AP personnel
  • Coordinates with the dispatch cell to guarantee a smooth implementation of the transportation schedule.
  • Picks-up GIZ and associated personnel arriving at KAIA and ensures further transport to passenger’s destination in KBL
  • Facilitates VIP visits at the airport.
  • Hands over the Welcome Package to newly arriving GIZ and AP personnel.
  • Roles and additional responsibilities
  • Maintains and implements airport transportation schedule.
  • Equips GIZ and Associated personnel with Emergency Card upon request
  • Maintains mobile phone logs and provides short term consultants with mobile phone and sim card
  • Processes the KAIA Registration Card
  • Prepares and constantly updates the contact list of GIZ and AP personnel arriving at KAIA.
  • Taking care of lost/missing luggage for incoming GIZ/SLA personnel.
  • Assisting-trouble shooting in VISA related matters.

Job Requirement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Business Administration or any other similar university degree

Professional Experience:

  • At least 3-5 years of work experience in a similar position

Other experiences and skills (e.g. language, IT-skills, social and personal skills, etc.):

  • Be organized, efficient, and communicative to coordinate between GIZ-RMO TOSU and another entity. In this role, you will act as the middle person between our technical activities and the other entity to streamline operations, resolve issues, improve communications, and generally ensure that the relationship is as beneficial as possible.
  • Serve as a mediator and negotiating with others, developing and fostering relationships within the area of duties.
  • Experience in the job related tasks would be an asset and will be considered
  • Working in fast-paced, high-pressure environment and must be willing to take initiative to proactively solve conflicts and address issues.
  • must have very strong organizational skills
  • Must be self-motivated and strong leaders capable of promptly and effectively coordinating and communicating strategic objectives.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time-management skills
  • Good working knowledge of communication systems (telephone,  e-mail, internet, sat phones, VHF, Skype)

Language Skills:

  • A well-kept outer appearance and cultivated manners
  • Comprehensive language skills (Pashtu, English, Dari,)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Sound computer literacy
  • Ability to function well in a multi-cultural environment
