Job Description
Scope of work:
The child protection officer – community engagement will work under the overall guidance of the project manager, building strong relationships with community members, stakeholders, encouraging volunteerism, ensuring community level acceptance, close communication with CPAN members, community-based child protection mechanisms, supporting in the identification of multipurpose cash distribution, conducting regular community visits and the engaging community at the provincial level. The incumbent will work closely with social workers and contribute to the smooth running of program activities at the field level.
Build community acceptance through outreach leading discussions with the community and regular communication with community leaders.- Regularly visit the field and build strong relationships and foster acceptance within the local community for CPSDO protection programs
- Establish feedback channels with the community and encourage volunteerism for CPANs
- Strengthening existing community-based structures & systems (CDCs, SMS, local Shuras/ CBCPMs, etc…)
- Designing and facilitating community mobilization/sensitization campaigns in collaboration with Community Engagement Workers, Community Based Protection Mechanisms, and children/adolescents
- Plan and ensure the strategic building and management of Community Based Protection Mechanisms in accordance with CPSDO policy
- Mobilize the community in the establishment of CBPCMs, CPANs, oversee and guide members in activities
- Create and support CFSs, and visit the centers on a regular basis to ensure quality implementation.
- Monitor community-based events
- Planning and coordinating campaigns for the social, psychosocial, and economic reintegration of children
- Identify and assist in the technical capacity building of community mobilizers, volunteers, Parasocial workers, and stakeholders in the project locations.
- Preparing reports with statistical and narrative details on the completed project activities
- Providing support to parent groups and caregivers by organizing and leading sessions with parents on positive parenting practices.
- Building and strengthening community ownership and participatory processes
- Supporting the community-based protection analysis, referrals, and strengthening the relationship between the organization and community members
- Increasing access of women and children to information on child rights
- Developing community-based protection strategies to address protection risks
- Conduct training and build capacity in community-based protection including capacity building of social workers, CPAN Officers, CFS mobilizers & facilitators
- Conducting regular training to improve the skills knowledge and capacity of stakeholders and key members of the community to identify prevent and respond to child protection concerns in communities.
- Build capacity of relevant stakeholders and key community members including religious leaders and local government through training on child protection
- Manage other community-based child protection programming in the specific province
- Ensuring beneficiaries are informed and regularly reminded about their entitlements from the project, and the confidential complaints mechanisms
- Provide inputs for weekly internal reports and any donor reporting as requested by CP Manager

Job Requirement
- Bachelor degree preferred
- At least 5 years experience in a similar position
- Strong experience in community engagement
Fluent in Dari, Pashto, and English
