It has its own independent legal status and entity. OHW is operating since 2007 in the country with active membership with the national clusters and international donor agencies in Afghanistan including SWABAC, ACBAR, AICS, BAAG, AWN and most of the national and international Clusters operates based in Afghanistan.

Job Description

Job Summery & Purpose:
The Project Manager will supervise the implementation of project, in collaboration with and on behalf of the Project Manager to ensure effective implementation of Project in line with the approved design, and in compliance with the donor requirements. The role will be based in OHW Kandahar office, to monitor, review and document progress in the field. The Project Manager will also be responsible for providing technical support and capacity building to Project staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Support and coordinate the work of the Project staff to ensure effective implementation of project activities in accordance with sound community practices and processes.
• In coordination with Provincial Coordinator/Program Coordinator, set and monitor the monthly action plans of staff and partners to ensure well-coordinated and timely implementation.
• Assist the field teams to produce accurate and timely narrative and financial reports for submission to the Provincial Coordinator/Program Coordinator.
• Support and manage the work of the project team to ensure that progress is being monitored in a timely and reliable manner.
• Support Project staff to conduct community-based surveys and social audits, and to guide community-based studies used to inform project strategies and knowledge generation
• Support Project staff to prepare quality progress reports, case studies and stories of change, in line with project requirements and OHW guide lines, and ensure wide dissemination of this information in consultation with the Provincial Coordinator/Program Coordinator.
• Contribute to the achievement of the Country Strategic Plan through the implementation of the OHW Kandahar project.
• Ensure high levels of transparency and accountability to donors and communities participating in the project.
• Should be ready to work in any province that OHW Afghanistan program operations are implementing.
• Take over all responsibility to implement the project activities including Daily, Monthly, Quarterly and annual reports as well as to control the quality and monitor field activities in the province.
 

Reporting:

Ability to write the quality report and able to mobilize the budget and analyze the budget accordingly.
The field standards operating procedures are properly implemented, with all reporting documents and data completed and archived.
Write, review and submit project monthly reports on the program for management
Cooperate in the management of provincial Office and its daily functioning in close coordination with Fin/Admin and Logistic personal.

 

Job Requirement

1.   Graduated from Education Faculty or any relevant faculty.
2.  5 years of work experience in relevant field
3. Familiar with the geographical and cultural context of the job location.
4.  Ability to support project team activities for the quality implementation of the project, developing plan, able to support the team based on their needs and experience in the reporting, planning and coordinating.
5. Fluency in English, Dari and Pashto
6.  Ability to develop project tools, formats, reports
7. Able to travel to all parts of the program impact areas and meet with stakeholders
