Job Description
Job Purpose
Finance assistant/cashier will be responsible for effective delivery of accounting and finance, tax and MoEc reporting services in order to facilitate transparent and efficient utilization of financial resources and under direct supervision of Finance Officer. S/He will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities
The Duties and responsibilities may include but not limited to:
- Prepare and process cash payment.
- File payment vouchers and ensure an organized filing system is maintained.
- Process employees per deim and program advances.
- Make sure all vouchers are filed properly and keep safe.
- Carry out weekly and monthly cash count as per WCUK manual and prepare necessary documentation.
- Review procurement transactions to ensure adequate supporting documentation, accuracy of amounts and control over payments
- Assist Finance office in review of partner payments and reports
- Prepare and maintain advance tracking sheet, ensure advances are settled on regular bases.
- Receive and check the correctness of invoices submitted for payment.
- Maintain rental contracts copy and tracking sheet of rental payments.
- Dealing with MoEc reports and follow up.
- Maintain the bank file, ensuring that all bank information is properly filed and updated
- Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts: prepayments, Accruals, Staff Salary advances. Maintaining a balance sheet database that clearly explains balances on respective accounts.
- Preparation and posting of Journal Entries for upload of partner reports to the accounting system
- Review and reconciliation of partner funds request prior to processing and ensure forecasting is done timely.
- Any other related duties as assigned his/her by WarChild-UK.

Person Specification
War Child in Afghanistan operates in a dynamic environment with a team of highly motivated and dedicated staff. The right candidate will share these qualities and bring effective leadership to a diverse team. The successful candidate will be creative problem solver and foster a solution-based approach to management.
Experience and mandatory criteria:
- University Degree,
- At least 3 Years’ relevant experience with humanitarian organizations related to Finance.
- Proficiency in English, Pashto and Persian languages is highly essential, [i.e., reading, writing and speaking]
- Highly objective, dependable, emotionally mature, sociable and communicative with good verbal and written communications skills.
- Must possess good interpersonal, mediation, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Patient and with good understanding of humanitarian and development work.
- Hardworking and able to work with people from different backgrounds.
- Honest and accountable.
- Flexible and can work under pressure.
- Commitment and to understand of War Child UK values.
