About New Way Social and Development Organization (NSDO): NSDO is a development, advocacy, and humanitarian organization established in 2011 and registered with the Ministry of Economy, Government of Afghanistan. NSDO is based in Kabul, with programming hubs across the north and northeastern provinces of the country. NSDO strives to empower the vulnerable and marginalized communities suffering from the impacts of war, natural calamities, poverty, and injustice. Additionally, NSDO is also working on the idea of integrated development, which encompasses socio-economic, cultural, and good governance. Community Empowerment is the core of NSDO’s strategy to engage with grass-root groups and communities to address the root causes of poverty, inequalities, and injustice. NSDO implements projects in the sectors of development, advocacy, and humanitarian funding by the European Commission, GIZ, USAID, and WFP in Afghanistan.
Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, organize, manage, lead, and evaluate the overall operations of the project/program.
- Organizing programs and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization.
- Developing new programs to support the strategic direction of the organization.
- Creating and managing long-term goals.
- Developing a budget and operating plan for the program.
- Developing an evaluation method to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement.
- Writing program funding proposals to guarantee uninterrupted delivery of services.
- Managing a team with a diverse array of talents and responsibilities.
- Ensuring goals are met in areas including beneficiary’s satisfaction, safety, quality, and team member performance.
- Implementing and managing changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved.
- Meeting with stakeholders to make communication easy and transparent regarding project issues and decisions on services.
- Producing accurate and timely reporting of program status throughout its life cycle.
- Analyzing program risks.
- Working on strategy with the marketing team.
- Negotiate, arbitrate, and resolve program, project, and policy issues/conflicts with other departments and community/business stakeholders.
- Select, assign, train, direct, and evaluate subordinate staff, including subordinate managers, superintendents, supervisors, professionals, and others as requested.
- Create and implement policies governing the program function and assist in policy decisions that may have a project / program-wide impact.
- Review all project activities, processes, and services for scope, schedule, and budget adherence.
- Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Enjoying the ability to command respect and to create a sense of community amongst the members of the project teams.
- Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring, and control programs.
- Sufficient seniority and credibility to advise project teams on their projects in relation to the program.
- Having the ability to find ways of solving or pre-empting problems
- Ability to implement the projects in different sectors of development, humanitarian, and advocacy.
- Enjoying to initiate organizational development.
- And other duties assigned by the immediate manager.
Job Requirement
- Master’s or PhD’s degree in business or related field.
- Proven experience in program management.
- Proven stakeholder management skills.
- Proven experience managing a team.
- Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Understanding of project management.
