Job Description
Project Overview
GIMC is recruiting Consultants for its current as well as anticipated project to review and assess the Gender-based Violence (GBV) Case Management, Referral, and Information Management System. The consultants, as described in detail, will work with GIMC on a variety of technical and research assignments in GBV. Each assignment will be separately negotiated with the Consultant and an agreement will be signed considering the terms and conditions of the specific assignment.
Job Description
The Consultant will assess and document existing internal and external SGBV referral system and the organization’s internal case and information management system and develop a report with recommendations on how to improve the systems to become more holistic, effective and needs-oriented. The consultant will also develop guidance documents to improve the systems and how to establish and strengthen SGBV services in cooperation with existing state and non-state facilities, CSOs and local communities.
- To assess the organization’s internal case, referral and information management system and workflows and existing/potential stakeholders, e.g within referral system
- To compile an Inception Report and Work Plan
- To compile a report with the assessment findings and recommendation for an effective a) case management, b) information management/database, b) internal-external referral system;
- To compile a number of step-by-step guidance documents
- To conduct workshops to introduce the findings and guidance documents to the organization for its practically in the field in Kabul and provinces;
- To support and guide the setup of the SGBV information management, case management and referral system
- Implantation of the case management system and training, monitoring and support for 1 or 2 months after completion of work or during the work;
Job Requirement
Years of Experience
- 5 years of experience in developing SGBV information management, case management and referral systems (including database management, GBVIMS, experience in analyzing and developing CMS or similar systems, preferably in a security, psychosocial or legal sector setting;
- Experience working in a legal and judicial sector and a development context preferred;
Training of Trainers Experience:
- At least 5years’ experience of delivering trainings on related topics
- Experience training trainers to support positive change for women and girls, SGBV survivors
Women’s rights knowledge and commitment
- Commitment and passion to end violence against women and girls
- Knowledge of the Afghan culture, political and social structures.
- Knowledge of legal procedures, laws and institutions in Afghanistan.
- Legal and/or medical background.
- A feminist and activist perspective
- Adhere to GBV minimum standards for GBV and CP mainstreaming
Work with stakeholders to successfully eliminate harmful practices
- Experience working as part of women’s coalitions and networks collaborating on action to change laws, processes and institutions detrimental to women and girls.
- Direct work on ending virginity-testing
- Ability to argue and change attitudes including by using scientific and legal arguments
- Language skills Fluency in English language
- Knowledge of Dari/Farsi or Pashtu
Technical skills
- Ability to work and engage with the MA-WSO staff on a regular basis to get inputs and collaborate
- Design, graphics and info-graphics skills.
Education
