Job Description

  Position summary:

The Life Skills Trainer will be responsible for provision of support to women, girls and children in coordination and under direct management of MHPSS manager in Women Friendly Health Spaces (MCHC). She has to engage women and girl through providing life skills education that includes awareness sessions on RH with a focus on peer education and healthy lifestyles including hygiene promotions, problem solving, critical thinking, and prevention of violence.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provision of support to women and girls in coordination and direct management of the Women Friendly Health Spaces (MCHC) MHPSS Manager.
  • Review and refine existing training modules on life skills education.
  • Work with community to encourage women and girls to engage them in the program/ activities.
  • Work with supervisor in planning and implementing activities related to psychosocial life skills education including community education, group and individual counseling sessions.
  • Provide life skills training/sessions including awareness sessions on RH with a focus on peer education and healthy lifestyles including hygiene promotions, problem-solving and critical thinking, and prevention of violence,
  • Develop and follow up on the action plan based on the project DIP,
  • Provide PSS counseling to vulnerable youths and adolescents who are at risk of child marriage and abuse,
  • Visit the field and conduct life skill education to the community members and build their capacity,
  • Provide technical assistance to other programs in MCHC as requested.
  • File reports for activities and accomplishments on a monthly, quarterly basis, or as otherwise assigned.
  • Identify and support the professional capacity building of the WC program MCHC team.
  • Prepare and submit reports to MHPSS Technical Manager of the MCHC.
  • Identify, collect, and record success stories/case studies and best practice activities for improvement of the programs regularly.
  • Perform any other task assigned by the supervisor

Job Requirement

Qualification:

  • Bachelor's Degrees preferably in a relevant discipline (Social Work, Social Sciences, Education, Psychology) with Three years of relevant experience 
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Life Skills Training with NGOs/INGOs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in working with women and girls and protection services in the field.

      Skills:

  • Good interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Fluent in Dari/ Pashto, both written and spoken
  • Skilled at working as a team member.
  • Possess group facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Computer skills (MS office skills)
  • Good reporting and writing skills  
  • Culturally sensitive and keep confidentiality
