About Afghanistan Development National Organization: Afghanistan Development National Organization (ADNO) is a non-government, nonpolitical, and non-profit organization. Its main area of work is community development, including training/capacity building, advocacy and civil society, support to formal and non-formal education, and emergency and income generation through implementing various skill trainings with participatory approaches. ADNO was founded in 2009 in Afghanistan. In general, ADNO is working with Afghan society to improve their development skills. And endeavoring for a peaceful, developed, and prosperous Afghanistan and the world where all vulnerable populations have equal rights, access to essential resources, and a life free from discrimination, poverty, and violence.

Job Description

Roles and Main Responsibilities:

  • Returnees, deportees, and unaccompanied children are safely reunited/reunified with their families across Afghanistan.
  • Conduct screening, registration, and assessment of returnees, deportees, and unaccompanied children at zero points.
  • Conducting awareness sessions on the prevention of irregular migration.
  • Keeping strong coordination with stakeholders, including sectorial departments at provincial levels and other key persons involved in the reunification process, and maintaining close cooperation and coordination with CFS Animators and Psychosocial and Child Protection Trainers.
  • Keeping the records of screening and registration and contributing to a proper referral system.
  • Have a proper coordination meeting with the liaison officer and government stakeholders.
  • Candidates must be willing and able to travel to all districts of Afghanistan where needed.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by line managers to support the overall objectives of the organization.

1. ST/SGB/2003/13 United Nations Secretary-General’s Bulletin and Special Measures for Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA)

In light of different reports and the statement of the UN Secretary General regarding PSEA and in order to take prevention measures, ADNO strictly applies the PSEA guidance and policy to all of its staff, daily wagers, contractors, consultants, volunteers, vendors, beneficiaries, etc. All ADNO associates are advised to avoid any kind of sexual exploitation (SEA) and abuse of any kind while working together with ADNO. Involvement in any form of SEA and violation of any set guideline in relation to SEA is prohibited.

ADNO shall track and get information on involvement in SEA or corruption about the candidates who apply to ADNO, and ADNO adopts a zero-tolerance policy on SEA and corruption.

As a humanitarian agency, ADNO strictly adheres to the humanitarian Data Sharing Protocol (DSP) applied in Afghanistan. The sharing of data of any type of anyone associated with ADNO (beneficiary detail, survey, assessment, reports, internal matters, confidential documents, etc.) is prohibited and will require senior management approval to make sure the sharing is in line with Do NO HARM principles, DSP, and ADNO data sharing policy.

Job Requirement

  • High School, but a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Three years of experience in a related position.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to gain trust and build relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders.
  • Organizational skills with demonstrated ability to execute projects, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
