About Aurum Afghanistan Mobile Money Services Company Aurum Afghanistan Microfinance Institution Aurum Afghanistan Microfinance is a newly established Islamic Microfinance Institution providing Islamic Financing to low-income individuals or groups who otherwise wouldn't have access to traditional financial services. The primary goal of Aurum Microfinance is to help people become self-sufficient by providing them with the financial tools they need to start or grow small businesses, manage their finances, and improve their overall economic well-being and earn Halal income through Halal products according to Sharia rules and principles.
Job Description
Aurum Afghanistan Microfinance Institution is dedicated to providing high-quality Islamic financial services under Murabaha to underserved communities, including both males and females. We ensure that our operations comply with Shariah principles. We are seeking a qualified Shariah Compliance/Risk Officer to join our team and help us maintain our commitment to ethical and compliant Islamic financial practices.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure that all Islamic products, operations, and activities of the Aurum Afghanistan Microfinance Institution comply with Shariah principles.
- Identify, assess, and manage risks associated with the institution's financial activities in accordance with Shariah law.
- Review financing proposals, agreements, process flows, and checklists, ensure Shariah compliance and suggest necessary improvements.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on Shariah compliance and risk management practices.
- Conduct pre and post financing assessment of the client’s businesses and provided documents
- Crosscheck collateral documents during field visit
- Check the client details in PCR
- Ensure that the client is not involved in AML/CFT and other illegal activities
- Conduct regular audits of the institution's operations to ensure ongoing Shariah compliance.
- Prepare and submit regular compliance and risk assessment reports to senior management.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure comprehensive risk management and compliance across the organization.
Job Requirement
- Bachelor's degree in Islamic Studies, Finance, or a related field;
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Shariah compliance, risk management, of Islamic finance.
- Relevant Shariah certifications (e.g., AAOIFI, IFSB) are preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Shariah principles, excellent communication and presentation skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in English and local language(s) is required.
