Job Description
Role Summary: This position has the responsibility to assist the Project in overall management and output of the NRM through maintaining quality standards, reliability, validity, precision, timeliness, and integrity while performing.
This position will be responsible for the management of the natural resources program, involve the identification of key commodities, work with key stakeholders including Local authorities, CSOs and communities, provide technical support to local associations and local groups on NRM management considering local context of climate change adaptations; and the development of community based forestry and reforestation programs through village nursery and with a focus on developing opportunities for women, youth and vulnerable groups.
Responsibilities and Tasks

- Provide technical expertise and strategic guidance to NRM Program and support the Program Manager in the implementation of program activities as specified annually.
- Organize bi-annual training for the committees on the NRM policies advocacy and NRM conservation approaches and NRM for improved food and nutrition security.
- Enlist and organize coordination meetings with CBNRM committees where exist and setup where required and inform them on the project purpose and benefits.
- Assist in developing priority-based annual work plans.
- Develop and maintain effective communication and coordination with other civil society organizations and Government line departments.
- Recommend and facilitate the implementation of a range of effective community level initiatives to reduce direct physical impacts of disasters or any other events (landslides, high rainfall etc.) in climate vulnerable hotspots in the target area.
- Develop/identify sectoral opportunities for economic development in Gilgit-Baltistan (Fisheries, Forestry, Wildlife etc.)
- Identification of strategic locations / areas for specific interventions (e.g., areas for forestation/afforestation, agroforestry, water conservation methods etc.)
- Identify and establish link between biodiversity conservation/NRM with sustainable livelihood.
- Develop, implement, and document appropriate best-practices in community-based approaches to natural resource management.
- Facilitate technical assistance/support for stakeholders in all relevant areas as appropriate.
- Ensure reporting and documentation of interventions of the Natural Resource Management Section.
- Facilitate the Natural Resource Management related trainings, seminars, and workshops.
- Any other task assigned by the supervisor.

Education & Training:
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or Environment disciplines
Experience:
- A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in Agriculture Food security NRM etc.
- Work experience preferably with INGOs or NGOs
- Belong to the local communities/districts.
- Fluency in English, Dari, and Pashto (speaking, reading, writing)
- Computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel)
Technical Skills (Examples: languages, planning, budgeting, word processing, advance written and verbal communication, presentation etc)
- Strong community mobilization skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Good reporting skills
- Willingness to travel to villages.
- Good knowledge of natural resources and policies
