About Company

About Good Neighbors International Afghanistan: GNI-A Background: Good Neighbors International (GNI) is an international humanitarian and development organization, working in more than 35 countries. We are a non-profit, non-governmental organization and in General Consultative Status with the United Nations, Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC).

Job Description

Program Summary:

As an INGO, since 2002, Good Neighbors International-Afghanistan (GNI-A) has been actively working in Afghanistan as a humanitarian and development aid agency, mainly targeting women and children who are deprived of their basic rights, especially the poor (rights-holders), through programs in several sectors, in order to enhance their capacities and to achieve major improvements in their lives. GNI-A is registered with the Ministry of Economy (NGO Department) under registration number 38.

GNI-A’s Kabul CDP-Women and Youth Development Program (Kabul CDP/WYDP), covering rural Kabul (west and east) district 13 and 12, is focused on the following outcomes:

1). Education, Computer Skills and Literacy for Women and Youth

2). Technical and Vocational Training, and Local Leadership

3). Girls Scholarship/Mentoring Program (SIM Scholarship)

4). Social Enterprise and Economic Empowerment

5). Community Health and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene-WASH

6). Policy and Advocacy on Youth and Child Rights/Protection and EVAW

Another aspect of the CDP is the SIM Fellowship Program for young girls coming from poor families and looking for financial resources to continue their higher education. GNI-A has provided the opportunity to continue and broaden their education and experiences through the fellowship program where these girls not only continue their education, but also get practical workplace experience by working in one of GNI-Afghanistan’s offices. This way, the center has become partially self-sustaining, with less dependency on outside resources.
