Job Description

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY : 
The main areas of accountability and responsibility of this position are, to support the implementation of the Agriculture component under SC-NI grant over the target province/s. 

Key Responsibilities:
    Plan and oversee livestock vaccination and deworming campaigns in coordination with local service providers and community stakeholders.
    Provide training and capacity-building for community animal health workers (CAHWs) to improve animal health services and access to veterinary care in remote areas.
    Support the distribution of veterinary kits and basic veterinary drugs to ensure the sustainability of livestock health services in underserved communities.
     Work closely with pastoral Kuchi communities to address livestock health challenges and enhance productivity.
     Conduct participatory assessments and surveys to identify livestock-related needs and opportunities within target communities.
    Promote best practices in livestock husbandry, including improved animal handling, hygiene, and market linkages for livestock products.
    Ensure that livestock interventions are inclusive, targeting vulnerable groups such as women, persons with disabilities, and families with limited income.
Provide regular updates and progress reports on livestock-related activities.

Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning
    Prepare and implement action plan for quality monitoring 
    Mobilizing and Making communities aware of project objectives, outputs and activities and MEAL systems and SCI Child Safeguarding Policies.
    Facilitate project and activities information at all events such as training and workshops

Job Requirement

QUALIFICATIONS  
     Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science, Animal Husbandry, Agriculture.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Essential
     At least 3 years of experience in livestock management, veterinary care, or rural livelihoods programs.
    Strong understanding of livestock health, animal husbandry, and pastoral livelihoods, especially within nomadic and rural communities.
    Experience working in underserved communities, with a particular focus on returnees and nomadic populations.
    Excellent training and capacity-building skills, particularly in working with local communities and community-based service providers.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
