Job Description

Job Purpose:

The community mobilizer will work in the MCHC established in the community. The Community mobilizer will provide awareness of Psychosocial Support (PSS) in the community. This role includes providing information on existing services and linking women or girls with MCHC activities and services.  The detailed job description is mentioned below.

Main Duties & Responsibilities: 

Under the overall supervision of the MCHC PSS counselor the community mobilizer will be responsible to:

  • Provide information and awareness raising on MCHC services to women in the community on a need basis. 
  • Assist women and girls coming to MCHC that require psychosocial support.
  • Conduct meetings with local stakeholders to increase the level of acceptance and strengthen relationships.
  • Provide Psychological first aid and psychosocial support to women and link them to other services available at MCHC such as PSS case management and psychosocial support services.
  • Co-facilitate group activities in close coordination with staff at MCHC. 
  • Coordinate with the PSS counselor and provide support in tasks related to MCHC.
  • Provide supportive information to women and refer them to available services within MCHC. 
  • Perform any other project-related duty assigned by MCHC In charge.
  • Assist the Provincial Technical Officer and other management staff in tasks as required.
  • Maintain data entry registers and other information per organization requirements on already developed tools.
  • Work closely with other MCHC staff members to build a professional team.
  • Perform any project-related tasks assigned by supervisors.

  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct, maintain humanitarian principles and respect international humanitarian law.

Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse:

  • Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps.

Compliance & Ethics:

  • Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance and ethics throughout the International Medical Corps. As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of International Medical Corps and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards.  Conducts work with the highest level of integrity.

Safeguarding:

  • It is all staff’s shared responsibility and obligation to safeguard and protect populations with whom we work, including adults who may be particularly vulnerable and children. This includes safeguarding from the following conduct by our staff or partners: sexual exploitation and abuse; exploitation, neglect, or abuse of children and adults at risk; and any form of trafficking in persons. 
 

Job Requirement

Qualifications:

  • Graduated from 12 grade.

Experience:

  • Having 6 months to one years’ experience in community mobilization, Psychosocial services, health with NGOs/INGOs.

Desirable:

  • Local candidate will be given preference.

 Competency:

  • Fluency in Pashto, Dari.
  • Ability to write short and concise reports.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Package (Word, Excel, Access etc.).
  • Willingness to travel to the field.
  • Having good computer skills in MS Suite and Internet.
