Job Description
Job Purpose:
The major goal of the assessment is to provide basic humanitarian emergency services in five key areas: livelihood, WASH, health, nutrition, MHPSS and GBV. The International Medical Corps is now working in the provinces on initiatives sponsored by BHA, AHF, UNICEF, and UNFPA in the areas of GBV, MHPSS, WASH, nutrition, and health.
Main Responsibilities:
- The data collector will participate in an orientation session in the office.
- The data collector should visit the given sites of the given provinces of Paktika, Jawazjan and Bamyan.
- The data collector will be responsible for data collection through interviews at HH level, interviews with Key Informants and FGDs Focus Group Discussion.
- The Data Collector will ensure taking accurate and clear notes from the KII and FGD sessions
- The Data Collector will provide daily updates to the MEAL Officer
- The Data Collector will report to the MEAL officer for data cross check and rectification.
- The Data Collector must ensure the quality of data at an optimal level.
- The Data Collector must maintain privacy and confidentiality of the beneficiaries.

- Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps.
Compliance & Ethics:
- Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance and ethics throughout the International Medical Corps. As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of International Medical Corps and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards. Conducts work with the highest level of integrity.
Safeguarding:
- It is all staff’s shared responsibility and obligation to safeguard and protect populations with whom we work, including adults who may be particularly vulnerable and children. This includes safeguarding from the following conduct by our staff or partners: sexual exploitation and abuse; exploitation, neglect, or abuse of children and adults at risk; and any form of trafficking in persons.
Job Requirement
Qualifications:
- High school graduate. Bachelor’s degree will be given preference.
Experience:
- Proven experience in qualitative/quantitative surveys within conducting Interviews, KIIs and Focus group discussions (FGDs).
- Preference will be given to locals of duty station.
Competency:
- Able to travel to remote areas.
- Comfortable with the discussion about Health, Nutrition, and other relevant issues
- Fluent in Pashto and Dari, speaking English is preferred.
- Familiar with Computer skill and using tablets for data entry.
