About Afghanistan Rehabilitation and Women Education Organization (ARWEO): ARWEO is a nonprofit organization with a visionary focus on the rehabilitation and protection of vulnerable communities in Afghanistan. ARWEO has a strategic goal of assisting the lifesaving and immediate needs of the marginalized population including IDPs, refugees, and host communities in eastern, central, and northern regions. ARWEO has a history of 20 years implemented 86 projects with 65% of projects in education, protection, food security, nutrition, and livelihoods. ARWEO is dedicated to transforming the lives of marginalized children including boys and girls, particularly those with immediate education, protection, and humanitarian needs, and those belonging to IDP, refugee, and host communities in the affected provinces of Afghanistan.
Job Description
Project Background:
ARWEO is implementing the UNICEF-funded project ‘Consolidation and Expansion of Community-Based Education (CBE) in Nangarhar Province of Afghanistan. This project is delivering community-based education to around 18390 children in 13 districts of the province including Districts: Hesarak, Muhmand Dara, Haska Mina, Shirzad, Pachir Agam, Ghani Khel, Surkhrood, Behsood, Khogyani, Jalalabad City, Kuz Kunar, Rodat and Achin. ARWEO embarks to bolster access to education for emergency-affected girls and boys through the sustained operation and strategic expansion of Community-Based Education (CBE) and Accelerated Learning Centers (ALC) in the province. ARWEO's strategy revolves around empowering teachers with the requisite tools and expertise to deliver impactful teaching through tailored training programs and innovative pedagogical approaches, rooted in principles of child-centered and inclusive teaching. ARWEO integrates modern-day co-curricular activities including international days, health hygiene, and complaint response procedures to provide safe and accessible education to all children.
Background
The Community-Based Education (CBE) project aims to enhance educational access and quality for marginalized communities in Nangarhar. The Data Entry Officer will be responsible for accurately entering, managing, and maintaining data related to project activities, beneficiaries, and outcomes to support effective monitoring and evaluation.
Objectives
- To ensure accurate and timely data entry and management for the CBE project.
- To support the project team in data analysis and reporting for informed decision-making.
- To maintain data integrity and confidentiality by organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities
Data Entry:
- Accurately enter data related to project activities, beneficiaries, and educational outcomes into the designated database or information management system.
- Ensure that all data is entered promptly and is free from errors.
- Regularly update education database (Students profile, teachers profile, SMS and SMC profile)
Data Management:
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical files related to project data.
- Regularly back up data to prevent loss and ensure data security.
Data Quality Assurance:
- Conduct regular checks to verify the accuracy and completeness of data entered.
- Identify and rectify any discrepancies or errors in the data.
Reporting:
- Assist in generating reports and summaries based on the collected data for project monitoring and evaluation.
- Provide data support for project assessments and evaluations as needed.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with project staff to understand data needs and ensure that data collection methods align with project objectives.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss data-related issues and improvements.
Training and Support:
- Provide training and support to field staff on data collection tools and procedures.
- Assist in the development of data collection tools and methodologies.
Job Requirement
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience of at least 5 years in data entry, data management, or a similar role, preferably in an NGO or educational context.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and data management software.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Undergoing PSEA training
- Signing a self-declaration form
