About Accessibility Organization for Afghan Disable (AOAD): About AOAD: Accessibility Organization for Afghan Disabled AOAD is a non-governmental, nonprofits and non-political organization established by Person with Disability with the aim of working and advocating for persons with disabilities, their immediate family members, and vulnerable people with gender equality as a peer-supporter in May 2007 in Kabul and registered with the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan with the registration No: 956. AOAD played a vital role in working and delivering of service to most marginalized and vulnerable groups and has multi year’s rich experience of work in 18 provinces of Afghanistan including Kabul, Nangarhar, Laghman, Kunar, Khost, Paktia, Paktika, Logar, Uruzgan, Bamyan, Helmand, Herat, Kandahar, Parwan, Balkh, Jawzjan, Ghazni and Wardak province of Afghanistan. AOAD is an active stakeholder with the humanitarian country Team (HCT/OCHA, ACBAR, and the Afghan CSO’s Network which fully contributed to all activities. Recently AHF/OCHA conducted a Capacity Assessment of AOAD and fortunately received its Eligible Certificate as a partner for AHF/OCHA funding. AOAD has a zero-tolerance approach to the AOAD Code of Conduct including safeguarding, child protection, SEA, and Fraud violations being committed by its staff, consultants, contractors, volunteers, interns, suppliers, vendors, sub-grantees/partners, implementing partners or any other associate. Organization Context: AOAD was established through a with its own Disability experts to advocate for the rights of Afghans with Disabilities and their family members with special respect to women/girls with Disabilities and children in Afghanistan, the overall vision of AOAD is to (LEAVE NO One Behind). AOAD with a deep understanding of challenges from Afghanistan society developed its programming portfolio to provide services for Persons with Disabilities with gender and Disability equality in the below thematic areas, Gender & Disability inclusion in the humanitarian and development agenda of Afghanistan. Capacity building, knowledge sharing, and recreational skills development for women/girls with Disabilities and their immediate family members. Service Delivery for Persons with Disabilities, their immediate family members, and vulnerable groups of society in the field of humanitarian, basic health service, Physical Rehabilitation, and Physical Accessibility for inclusive environments to live everyone in equality and dignity. AOAD is a committed organization with the vision/mission with full respect to international Humanitarians law (IHL), the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities UNCRPD and agreements with close coordination with national and international organizations, government entities, and communities implemented 95 projects in the 18 provinces.
Job Description
- Roles and Responsibilities
- Report and close collaboration with the field Supervisor.
- Conduct baseline surveys on the community, develop and implement community mobilization plan.
- Mobilizes and motivates the target communities on gender equality issues;
- Inspires a sense of contribution, participation, and self-reliance in the target communities.
- Establishes and develops good mutual understanding, cooperation, and trust between the project and the target communities.
- Working directly with community groups to continue to change their attitudes.
- Work with stakeholders, families, and community for acceptance of women in income generation projects, to increase freedom of movement and greater access to the job market.
- Mobilize and sensitize communities on program activities and introduce the project to district and community levels.
- Raise awareness of communities regarding disability services, disability prevention (congenital Disability), and disability identification.
- Enhance community awareness regarding project activities.
- Support and identify the project rights holders.
- Ensure people's inclusion to program especially Persons with Disabilities, and excluded women, men, and children.
- Facilitate and support the distributions at the community level.
- Reports to the field supervisor.
- Conducting a detailed assessment of the communities.
- Organize coordination meetings with village elders and local communities, for the community mobilization and Awareness sessions.
- Assists Field supervisor in the development of provincial program scope.
- Any other task given by the line manager.
General
- Act according to the policy and regulations of AOAD
- Keep updated with issues related to AOAD and the environment where AOAD operates
- Promote an attitude of team spirit and a strong focus on quality
- Do related job as delegated by the project coordinator or Project Manager

Job Requirement
- A bachelor’s degree in social science, community development, or Education will be an advantage.
- 2-3 years of professional experience in related field.
- Effective communication and writing skills.
- Competency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Very good English written communications skills including the ability to prepare reports.
- fluent in national languages (Pashto and Dari).
