Register with Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Public Health. And works in different sectors such as, WASH, Health, Education, Food Security, Livelihood and provision of different kinds of emergency response and relief to returnees, IDPs and affected people and SGOA provides humanitarian assistance in remote and underserved areas, promoting equal access to development and humanitarian aid. Job Description

Job Summary: The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing key operational areas including procurement, logistics, security, and safeguarding. This role involves ensuring that all operations are executed smoothly and in compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a commitment to operational excellence.

Scope of Work:

  1. Procurement Management:

    • Oversee the procurement process to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
    • Monitor and evaluate procurement activities to ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor regulations.
    • Collaborate with the procurement team to develop and implement procurement strategies and policies.
  2. Logistics Coordination:

    • Manage logistics operations including transportation, warehousing, and distribution of supplies.
    • Develop and implement logistical plans to support project activities and ensure timely delivery of materials.
    • Coordinate with vendors, partners, and field staff to optimize logistics efficiency and resolve any issues that arise.
  3. Security Management:

    • Develop and enforce security protocols and procedures to safeguard staff, assets, and program operations.
    • Conduct regular risk assessments and provide recommendations for mitigating security risks.
    • Coordinate with local security forces and other relevant stakeholders to ensure a secure working environment.
  4. Safeguarding Oversight:

    • Implement and monitor safeguarding policies and procedures to protect beneficiaries and staff from harm.
    • Ensure that all safeguarding concerns are addressed promptly and appropriately.
    • Provide training and support to staff on safeguarding practices and reporting mechanisms.
  5. Team Leadership and Development:

    • Lead and support the operations team, including procurement, logistics, security, and safeguarding personnel.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
    • Identify training needs and opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and performance.
  6. Compliance and Reporting:

    • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements, and local regulations in all operational areas.
    • Prepare and submit regular reports on operational activities and performance to senior management.
    • Address any audit findings or compliance issues in a timely manner.
  7. Strategic Planning and Improvement:

    • Contribute to the development and implementation of operational strategies and plans.
    • Identify areas for operational improvement and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Stay informed about industry best practices and integrate relevant practices into operations.

Job Requirement

Qualifications:

  1. Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Logistics, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management, preferably within a humanitarian or non-profit organization.
  2. Skills and Competencies:

    • Strong leadership and management skills with a proven track record in overseeing procurement, logistics, security, and safeguarding functions.
    • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with operations management software.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail.
  3. Personal Attributes:

    • High level of integrity and commitment to ethical practices.
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
