About Rehabilitation Association and Agriculture Development for Afghanistan (RAADA): Rehabilitation Association and Agriculture Development for Afghanistan (RAADA) started its humanitarian activities in 2002. As a local Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), RAADA started working in Herat province and extended its activities to western Afghanistan (Herat, Farah, Ghor, and Badghis provinces) with the Vision “Poverty no Longer Exists in the World” and the Mission Statement “Mitigating Poverty and Contributing to Reconstruction and Development Process in Afghanistan through Community-based Solutions and Interventions”. Having a good analysis of the community needs, qualified staff, and sound management procedures, RAADA has designed and implemented various projects on Livelihood, Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, Human Rights, Women Empowerment, Disaster Risk Reduction, Water Supply, Health, and Hygiene ... with the financial support it has received from CAID, JICA, Tawanmandi-DFID, US Embassy, UNHCR, WAR CHILD UK, UNFAO, WFP, WHH, DRC, VDT, Italian Cooperation, IRC, CRS, and AKF.
Job Description
- Financial record-keeping.
- Preparing and processing vouchers, reviewing bills, and allocating them to their relevant project budget line and codes.
- Monitoring and posting of transactions to the accounting package.
- Preparing financial reports for the project.
- Communication and handling the bank and suppliers' related issues
- Direct reporting to RAADA's Finance Manager or their designated person
- Monthly tax reports and payments to the Government
- Prepare and maintain cash books & bank books
- Preparing cash and Bank Reconciliations
- Maintain accounting-related data and documents in the hard and soft filing system
- Prepare vouchers for book-keeping and indicate their cost classification
- Preparing all necessary attachments for the closing of the monthly account.
- Provide necessary documents and reports for internal controlling
- Designing monthly budgets in close coordination with RAADA's Admin-Finance Manager
- Designing monthly liquidation plans in close coordination with the RAADA's Admin-Finance Manager
- Close coordination with the procurement department of RAADA for office procurement
Job Requirement
- Bachelor or higher degree in a "Finance" related field from an approved university
- Finance & accounting knowledge
- Minimum 2 years of working experience with NGOs in the same position
- Computer skills (MS Excel and QuickBooks)
- Proficiency in English and other local languages (writing & speaking)
- Ability to work both independently and as an effective team member
- Professionalism in appearance and demeanor
- Ability to travel to the project-targeted districts and villages
Reporting to:
The finance officer will be directly reporting to the Admin-Finance Manager of RAADA
