Job Description

Position Overview:

The Community Mobilizer will be responsible for the mobilization and coordination of communities in the area of operation. The successful applicant will be responsible for community related activities, provide workshops, arrange meetings with the community for orientation of the program, identifying and solving field challenges pertaining Project implementation between the communities, conducting surveys, do outreach, Facilitate Distribution process, Organizing awareness sessions, Support in developing contents and materials. This position will also advise other project staff on cultural issues relating to different communities so as to ensure staff conducts themselves appropriate to the context

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide project orientation to Government stakeholders, community leadership, Shuras, and other community members and stakeholders.
  2. Provide workshops and arrange meetings with community leaders, religious leaders, local Champions and other community members to enhance cooperation and transparency in project activities and provide awareness sessions on Hygiene and MHM.
  3. Liaise effectively between ACDEO and community for better implementation of the project.
  4. Ability to conduct survey for identification of eligible beneficiaries for humanitarian response.
  5. Working with committees and helping them understand and undertake their responsibilities.
  6. Ensure community readiness for participation in training activities, awareness session, Counseling sessions, surveys and other project related activities in their area.
  7. Provide other project staff with information on area of operation to guide their conduct and methodology for engaging with communities.
  8. Develop work plans and compile reports on mobilization activities.
  9. Establish solid relations with community leaders for better facilitation, and to know about the cultural setup, security of the area.

Job Requirement

Required Experience and Education

  1. Education:
    1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social science Law or a related field.
  2. Experience:
    1. Minimum 3 years of in the program, social activities, Community Engagement, Awareness, Survey and Distributions process.
    2. Proven experience in program, social activities, Community Engagement, Awareness, Survey and Distributions process.
    3. Experienced in working with the community, influential character between the community and understanding the cultural issues of Afghan community.
    4. Cross-cultural sensitivity, flexible world view, emotional maturity and physical stamina.
    5. The applicant is expected to be familiar with area of operation and should spend the majority of their time in the field.
  3. Skills:
    1. Excellent analytical/problem-solving skills and detail orientation.
    2. Excellent local communication skills
    3. Thorough knowledge of MS Office, MS Excel, MS Access
    4. Ability to work in and contribute to team building environment.
    5. Ability to maintain performance and exemplary lifestyle expectations in diverse cultural contexts, psychologically stressful environments and physical hardship conditions with limited resources.
    6. Dari, - Fluent Written & Speaking Essential
    7. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
