About Razi Social Development Organization (RSDO): Introduction to RSDO Razi Social Development Organization- RSDO is an Afghan NGO founded on April 11, 2008, and registered with the Ministry of Economy in Afghanistan. It was established in Herat city but then set up sub-offices in Ghor, Badghis, Farah and Daykundi provinces by delivering social development services to vulnerable and marginalized people in remote communities. RSDO’s Background RSDO firstly initiated the primary activities in 2002 under the name of “Abu Hanifeh Orphan High School”, assisting orphan children who lost their parents and families during the long-lasting war in Afghanistan to learn and build their future. Later on, with the financial support of the Japan Embassy, we constructed a high school building for orphans and expanded the activities of orphans with the support of HELP Germany as well. Throughout years of hard work, RSDO slowly developed and now has functioning offices in all west zone provinces of Afghanistan with more than 200 staff. RSDO’s mandate RSDO’s mandate is delivering humanitarian assistance to vulnerable households in the west zone provinces of Afghanistan through the financial support of the UN and International Organizations. RSDO's Mission RSDO dedicated all efforts to contribute in none violent, developed, and prosperous Afghanistan where both men and women live and respect each other through running services in the sector of women empowerment, education, agriculture, capacity building, and livelihood. RSDO's Vision: RSDO’s vision is an Afghanistan without illiteracy. We envision that all Afghan children (girls and boys) have easy access to high-quality education that affect their lives and provide the means of development.

Job Description

  • In collaboration with the RSDO team the community mobilization officer is expected to develop community mapping tools (to identify Protection Risks and community-based mechanisms/services in the targeted areas.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders including government authorities, CDCs, CSOs, networks, Shuras and religious scholars on the project beneficiary’s selection, distribution and post distribution follow up.
  • Conduct regular meetings with selected villages and provide project support according to the assessed livelihoods needs related to agriculture.
  • Coordinate and communicate with the acting stakeholders including local authorities in the capacity of the community and the other stakeholders in community mobilization, behavior changes, and communication for development.
  • To assist the farming communities to form new farmers groups and to further strengthen the operation & function of existing community farmer groups / organizations/ water user management committees.
  • Identify and enlist participants for all project activities as per criteria developed.
  • Facilitate FFS facilitators in identifying potential farmers, farmer groups in targeted villages.
  • Form farmer groups with village cooperation including female participation at all levels.
  • Arrange & organize consultative meetings with farmer groups on their roles and responsibilities.
  • Monitor and follow up on all the project activities and report on a weekly/monthly basis.
  • Prepare reporting and analysis of all trainings and workshops.
  • Prepare plans for all community mobilization activities of virtual training in emergency situation when the accessibility to the communities and group sessions are hindered.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on data related to agro-based initiatives.
  • Ensure documentation of all related activities in soft & hard
  • Ensure that communities are regularly involved in all phases of the programming.
  • Contribute to design and implementation of outreach activities to provide inputs to outreach community mobilizer.
  • Facilitating quarterly engagement meetings of with community actors and stakeholders and developing quarterly action plans for sensitization, behavior change and advocacy
  • Keep the community updated about the project.
  • Connect the mapped initiatives and people with each other and coordinate for their mutual benefit e.g., when more than one group offer the same or complementary services.
  • Organize and participate in all project events (practical trainings on collaboration between the local government and communities, consultations with communities, mobilization of youth, community design workshops, idea generator camp and etc.
  • Assist community initiatives with their online documentation (community proposals) jointly with outreach community mobilizer.
  • Respond and adjust to flexible activity scheduling, logistical constraints related to public space management, or social dynamics involving the community and its expectations.
  • Make the space visible and supply an understanding of the community when demands come in.
  • Conduct the surveys (baseline, and end line) for the community selection and beneficiary selection purposes and the project outcomes.
  • Conduct the distribution processes.
  • Any other tasks given to him by the project manager.
  • Supervises proposal development for funding support for activities in the
  • regions.
  • Liaises with the Regional Directors for any issues in their regions.
  • Develops and supervises implementation programs and their activities
  • Developing better planting, cultivation, and harvesting techniques, improving crop yield, and solving problems for farmers

. Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture field.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in community mobilization.
  • Experience with specialized national and international agencies is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of national/ international institutions, government and NGO is a essential.
  • Direct experience in the targeted provinces is essential.
  • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
