About War Child: War Child flagship Afghanistan program advances social impact in the lives of vulnerable children, women and their families through its Justice, Education and Opportunity programs with child protection and gender across all its programs. The Afghanistan Country Program is currently undergoing an exciting expansion with newly secured long-term funding for programs in eight provinces Kabul, Kandahar, Nangarhar, Balkh, Kundoz, Takhar, Logar and Badakhshan, and will expand its program to other new provinces.
Job Description
Position summary:
The Social Mobilizer will work in the community to serve as a bridge between the community and MCHCs through regular meetings with community members, religious and prominent leaders, Ulema, Mullah Imams, and youths. The MCHC male social mobilizer, through regular meetings with community elders, religious elders, and youths, will strengthen women and girls links with MCHC services and positively impact MCHC utilization.
Job Requirement
- Connect communities with MCHC services, serve as a bridge between the community and MCHCs to encourage communities allowing their women and girls visit MCHCs and seek services.
- Communicate and coordinate with local level authorities and community people at the local level about MCHC activities. Coordinate and communicate with DFAs as a male MCHC representative on behalf of MCHC staff.
- Assist the project team in mapping of health service providers in the targeted communities.
- Mapping of available services in the targeted communities and strengthening the referral pathways.
- Coordinate with BPHS/ EPHS and other health service providers for synergies and collaborations.
- Assist team in conducting coordination meetings within district with authorities and other stakeholders.
- Provide updates and required information to the project team.
- Perform any project-related tasks assigned by supervisors.
Qualification:
- Bachelor's Degree in the relevant discipline (Social Work, Social Sciences, Psychology) and related backgrounds are preferable.
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in community mobilization with NGOs/INGOs.
- Excellent social work and community mobilization skills.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
- Experience working with different communities with different cultures and protection services in the field.
