Job Description
Scope of work:
The livelihood specialist under the direct supervision of the child protection project manager is overall responsible to introduce needy families of the children on the move for livelihood opportunities, help them build their capacity, prepare individual beneficiary plan, recommended necessary items required for each single family, market assessment, beneficiary identification and selection, livelihood procurement plan for each single family, business plan development for beneficiary and post monitoring.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for identification, verification and registration of beneficiaries for CP &
- Livelihoods interventions and support beneficiaries’ identification, selection processes & Criteria
- Collection of relevant data and participation of surveys related to CP Livelihoods
- Facilitate beneficiaries in effective utilization of grants which they receive under different interventions
- Present and facilitate in capacity building events designed for the beneficiaries.
- Actively participate in relevant field assessments to identify the beneficiaries’ needs and viable livelihood opportunities, ensuring assessment findings are documented and that all assessments include a specific analysis of children’s needs
- Support capacity building of livelihood beneficiaries and need assessment of each beneficiary requirements
- Support in development of livelihood related training materials
- Take part in community-based mobilization and sensitization meetings and introduce the livelihood component of the project to target communities and needy families of the children on the move
- Take part in the process of beneficiary identification and registration. Based on the skills and knowledge of beneficiaries recommended feasible livelihood opportunity to beneficiaries.
- Preparation of livelihood procurement plan for each single beneficiary
- Support in the distribution of each selected beneficiary livelihood tools, items, equipment and materials
- Support the livelihood beneficiaries in developing their business plans.
- Support the labor market assessment that will take place in the implementation province.
- Conduct training needs assessment with beneficiaries and support based on the result of needs assessment and support implementation of training courses for livelihood beneficiaries if required
- Support the development of livelihood Plans and market linkages for target communities ensuring youth, children and vulnerable groups contribute fully to each plan
- Organize the training of the selected households on business planning and record keeping
- Conduct the implementation and monitoring of all activities, at field level, as laid out in the plan of action.
- Assist in the registration of target families, ensuring that the data is collected and is recorded appropriately
- Any other activities assigned by direct supervisor
Job Requirement
- Bachelor degree
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position
- Fluent in Dari, Pashto and English
