Job Description

  • Be responsible for ensuring management of resources for the fulfillment of Food Security and Livelihood-FSL-project deliverables and commitments for objectives/indicators and accountability to donor requirements.
  • With the Head Office-HO finance department, ensure that activities and expenses are regularly monitored and, as needed, action plans with follow-up are developed to correct any over - or underspending in a timely manner.
  • Conduct and support ongoing monitoring of FSL activities, through frequent visits to field sites, to ensure minimum standards for FSL  and progress toward targets.
  • Identify program gaps, areas of growth, and strategies and support in adapting program design to effectively meet beneficiary needs, the changing context, and other factors.
  • Ensure maintaining of program files and documentation as per program management minimum standards, including maintaining the confidentiality of beneficiaries’ data.
  • Ensure integration of FSL activities with other OCHR sectors (WASH, Protection/GBV, and ES/NFI).
  • Support teams to successfully conduct activities that will include market assessments to ensure the market functions in the target area.
  • Assist in the representation of OCHR in meetings relevant to OCHR’s work, including at meetings with field partners (WFP, FAO, etc.), donors, government officials, and cluster/coordination meetings.
  • Proactively liaise and build a good rapport with local authority officials, community representatives, and any other relevant stakeholders.
  • Strengthen accountability activities for FSL, ensuring that feedback from all relevant stakeholders is considered in FSL programming design.
  • Represent FSL programming in project kick-off, close-out, and review meetings according to requirements. Ensure documentation and follow-up of action points in a timely manner.
  • Include the participation of beneficiaries and communities, particularly those most vulnerable or at-risk, in all stages of the project cycle where appropriate.
  • Ensure that all FSL activities are included in project M&E plans and supervise the implementation.
  • Ensure the preparation and writing of food security and livelihood donor reports together with the FSL team.

 

Job Requirement

  • University degree in agriculture, rural development, business administration, or similar relevant qualification.         
  • Proven experience in program development, monitoring, and reporting
  • Excellent written and oral English language skills
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Previous coordination/management experience
  • Previous experience with FSAC cluster, relevant UN agencies
  • Structured, well organized and self-driven
  • Excellent communication, cooperation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build other people’s capacity
  • Culture and conflict sensitive
