About War Child: War Child flagship Afghanistan program advances social impact in the lives of vulnerable children, women and their families through its Justice, Education and Opportunity programs with child protection and gender across all its programs. The Afghanistan Country Program is currently undergoing an exciting expansion with newly secured long-term funding for programs in eight provinces Kabul, Kandahar, Nangarhar, Balkh, Kundoz, Takhar, Logar and Badakhshan, and will expand its program to other new provinces.
Job Description
Position Summary:
The Accountability to Affected People Coordinator will be responsible for the technical and operational support in. the overall project management including planning, implementation and coordination of Accountability to Affected Population (AAP) interventions including design, planning and delivering of comprehensive training on AAP, Gender, PSEA and Disability inclusion to UNFPA IPs staff
Specific duties and responsibilities:
- Review and internalize the comprehensive training manual on AAP, PSEA, Gender and Disability inclusion developed by UNFPA
- Assist in the production of standard capacity building materials, manuals, build and enhance technical capacity of the relevant staff in the organization and the partners on AAP, PSEA, Disability including and Gender mainstreaming, etc.
- Develop a comprehensive training plan based on the developed manual and share with UNFPA and WC for approval
- Develop training modules based on the manual, share with UFNPA and WC for final review and approval
- Coordinate with UNFPA about the facilitation of national and regional trainings based on the manual
- Conduct regional training for UNFPA IPs staff on AAP, PSEA, Disability including and Gender mainstreaming, etc.
- Implement approaches and communication channels to increase access to the lifesaving information for project target groups.
- Support project team in designing and development of awareness raising materials (i.e. leaflets, brochure, community dialogues and handbook) to disseminate key messages and raise awareness related to MCH, SRHR, GBV, MPSS, etc.
- Actively participate in peer learning at local and national levels to share and document experience, challenges and questions working on AAP
- Organize regular meetings with the project team to ensure optimal coordination and proper flow of information.
- Coordinate with other Program Managers and relevant team on Gender and PSEA issues to ensure that all project’s activities are implemented in line with Safeguarding Children and Young People and met the minimum standard of gender transformative programming and influencing approaches of War Child Canada.
- Supports segmented communications to inform and/or incentivize behavior change.
- Helps identify and implement appropriate communications campaigns to publicize and promote activities.
- Monitors communications usage and results, in collaboration with M&E staff
- Organizes and supports inputs for learning/information platforms.
- Writes and disseminates best practices and success stories within and outside of the project.
- Ensures use of the Project web-based platforms and social media
- Designs content of project website and electronic communications in line with
- Contributes to project’s monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Responds to data calls, requests for information and presentations by researching activities, developing presentations, press releases etc.
- Travel to the field/ communities to oversee project implementation and provide feedback to the team for quality delivery.
- Provide inputs in quality donor reporting including data and information required by the donor and WC management on ad hoc basis.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Project Manager and WC Management
Job Requirement
Qualification:
Academic Background and Knowledge/ Experience
- Bachelor Degree preferably in relevant disciplines (e.g., development, humanitarian studies, gender studies, international relations, business administration, research methods, social sciences) with 3 to 5 years relevant experience,
- Additional qualification or certification of Project Management Professionals or any Monitoring & Evaluation related programming is highly desirable.
- Experience with promoting and mainstreaming AAP principles in humanitarian programming.
- Strong understanding of Access to Information and Community Feedback and Response Mechanisms
- Familiarity with the humanitarian system and global humanitarian policy frameworks, in particular the IASC Commitment on AAP, and related policies
Skills
- Ability to lead strategic planning, results-based management, and reporting
- Excellent communication skills both in writing and oral including presentation, networking, and interpersonal skills: English, Pashto, Dari
- Excellent computer, MS office skills
- Flexibility and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Good reporting writing skills
- Culturally sensitive
- Data management skills and familiar with applications e.g., Kobo and other related programs
