Job Description

General Summary: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Social  mobilizer  to join our team for the Bread+ and HEB School Feeding Project. As a Social  mobilizer  , He/She will play a vital role in engaging and mobilizing community members to support and participate in the school feeding program. Your ability to build relationships, communicate effectively, and coordinate community activities will contribute to the success of the project.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Social  Engagement: Establish and maintain positive relationships with community members, including parents, local leaders, teachers, and other stakeholders. Act as a liaison between the project and the community, promoting understanding, collaboration, and active involvement.
  • Awareness and Advocacy: Conduct community awareness campaigns to promote the benefits of the school feeding program and raise awareness about nutrition, education, and child well-being. Advocate for the program's importance and impact, addressing any concerns or misconceptions.
  • Sensitization and Training: Organize sensitization sessions and training workshops for community members, emphasizing the significance of proper nutrition, hygiene practices, and the role of the school feeding program in promoting children's health and education. Provide information on program objectives, eligibility criteria, and enrollment processes.
  • Social Mobilization: Mobilize community support and participation in program activities, such as parent-teacher meetings, nutrition education sessions, and school feeding monitoring committees. Encourage community members to actively contribute their time, resources, and ideas to enhance the program's effectiveness.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with school authorities, local organizations, government agencies, and other partners to leverage resources, share information, and coordinate efforts. Foster partnerships to enhance program sustainability and community ownership.
  • Data Collection and Reporting: Collect relevant data and information from the community, including feedback, suggestions, and challenges. Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on community engagement activities, program impact, and community needs.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Participate in monitoring and evaluation activities to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of community mobilization strategies. Provide input and recommendations for program improvements based on community feedback and observations.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Respect and appreciate the cultural diversity of the community. Ensure that program activities and communication are culturally sensitive and inclusive.

Job Requirement

  1. Bachelor's degree in social sciences, community development, or a related field. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  2. Proven experience in community mobilization, community development, or a related field.
  3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and connect with diverse community members.
  4. Knowledge of community engagement and mobilization strategies, including participatory approaches.
  5. Familiarity with nutrition, education, and child development concepts.
  6. Strong organizational and coordination skills to plan and execute community activities effectively.
  7. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  8. Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  9. Cultural sensitivity and respect for local customs and traditions.
  10. Passion for social impact and improving the lives of vulnerable children and communities.
