Job Description

  • Assist in the designing, planning and implementation of rapid need assessments, conducting personal interviews at household level, facilitation of focus group discussions.
  • Conducting Assessment/Registration for all hygiene promotion and relevant COVID-19 interventions.
  • Raise targeted communities’ awareness on hygiene promotion, the importance of hygiene and safe WASH practices.
  • He/she will also communicate with the Shuars and targeted communities to facilitate smooth project implementation/hygiene promotion.
  • He / She will also be required to conduct training regarding the WASH and hygiene activities.
  • In close collaboration with Project manager design, planning, implementation, and follow-up of hygiene promotion activities in the targeted area.
  •  Identify local community hygiene promotion volunteers and community health workers.
  • Conducting Trainings (for community volunteers, teachers, and health workers) on hygiene promotion and GBV using standard materials developed by MoPH.
  • To coordinate and prepare together with community Hygiene volunteers monthly and weekly work plans for hygiene promotion and GBV activities.
  • Take part in the selection, designing, pre-testing, developing, dissemination, and evaluation of appropriate IEC hygiene material for effective hygiene promotion in the target area.
  •  Follow and ensure that gender, protection, local culture, and other important cross-cutting concerns are taken into account in program implementation, and reporting.
  • Maintaining all the hard records of hygiene promotion activities at the office level and ensuring soft data is maintained for all hygiene promotion and GBV activities.
  • Ensure community mobilization in all field related to project interventions.
  •   Writing weekly report to line manager, and verbal reports whenever necessary.
  •  Preparation of session plan and training reports for all sorts of training.

Job Requirement

  • University Degree in Social Sciences and/or certification in relevant field
  • The Hygiene Promotors/GBV Trainer should be literate (easily reading and writing in local language/s)
  • Around two years of experience working with communities.
  • Experience in hygiene and sanitation and Public health is preferred.
  • Experience in working with community and community mobilization will be given priority.
  • Familiarity with cultures of different Afghan communities
  • Very good interpersonal communication skills
  • Fluency in speaking with villagers.
  • Ability to speak in big gatherings and interact very smoothly and politely.
  • The candidate should be very polite and patient
  • Skills to convince others (villagers/communities’ people and elders).
  • Must be able to communicate well in local language/s
  • The skill of working in a team.
