Job Description

Job Summary:

Train and increase capacity of teachers in peace education and psychosocial support, to have intensified their interaction with students and the community and improve the perception and social acceptance of psychosocial support and act as resource persons for the communities in these areas.

Job Requirement

Responsibilities and Tasks

  1. Teach 10 to 20 sessions of (60 – 90 minutes) per week.
  2. Prepare lecture notes and session wise, week wise, monthly, and annual lessons plan for the relevant subjects taught and regularly daily check students attendance sheet.
  3. Cooperation and giving suitable suggestions for the purpose of improving teaching quality and student’s knowledge in the Education Department of the Actionaid organization.
  4. Responsibility of being as supervisor of the relevant classroom/s.
  5. Control of students’ attendance sheet and registration of the students’ names.
  6. Cooperation in provision of the program syllabus based on needs throughout the program.
  7. Giving suitable suggestions for the purpose of achieving the project objectives and problem-solving to the Education Department of the Actionaid organization.
  8. Provision of schedule/timetable and grade sheets for the students.
  9. Make sure to be present in the classrooms on time. (In case of being late, the teacher will be marked absent in the attendance sheet and no salary will be counted for the same session.)
  10. In case of being absent for three days (sessions) consecutively, the Actionaid organization will have to look for another teacher.
  11. In case of urgent work, the teacher has to inform the Education Project Coordinator at least 2 hours in advance.
  12. The teacher must be present at the training center at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the class and leave the training center at least 30 minutes after the class.
  13. Attend Education Department meetings.
  14. The teacher may accomplish any other task given by the Education Project Coordinator/Manager.  

 

Job Specification

Education & Training:

  • Master - Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject.

Experience:

  • At least 3 -4 years relevant experience.

 

Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor's/master’s degree in psychology or counseling and a Valid certificate from Ministry of Health certifying as Professional Psychosocial Counsellor.
  • At least 3-4 years of experience in PSS/counseling, and experience with IDPs will be a plus point.
  • Experience in case management including organizing individual or group counseling sessions.
  • Psychosocial Counsellor must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability of conducting trainings on Psychosocial support.
  • Proper report writing and communication skills.
  • A team member with ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to clearly express one’s thoughts to analyses and present information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to set priorities and show initiative to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of case management and crisis intervention techniques.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with communities’ members.
