Job Description
Finance Manager of SDO is in-charge of all financial matters and responsible for the Finance department of SDO. He must have excellent financial management skills, be aware of the technologies, database and software for financial analysis and reporting, performs as a best team player with management skills to lead the department. Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update accounting and financial systems in accordance with SDO and donor regulations
- Responsible to submit on time financial reports for projects according to formats and directives from donors.
- Responsible to maintain a transparent, accurate and clear financial records.
- Make budget variance analysis and plan for future expenditure
- Prepare monthly finance report update of financial information of projects to management
- Prepare account analysis, reconciliations and consolidation of reports
- Prepare employees’ pay roll and issue their salaries, other wages, and remunerations on time.
- Financial manager is responsible for the inflows and outflows of cash during the fiscal period.
- The finance manager is responsible to maintain the payables and receivables list of the organization in every quarterly reports for management
- Checking the employees’ pay roll and issue their salaries, other wages, and remunerations which made by officers.
- Budgeting of new projects and making budget for the organization yearly.
- Making the budget Comparison for projects and find the Budget VS expense for all projects.
- Making the plan and controlling the expenses of all running projects in main office and field office
- Make sure that all financial affairs of the department are carried out in the compliance of SDO’s financial policy
- Supervise and support on/off job training to subordinate
- Assist in preparation of budgets of individual projects and programs as well as the organization’s consolidated budget;
- Prepare and process regular financial forecasts, including advice on expenditure from agreed budget lines and/or income generated by SDO business units;
- Supervising monthly spending projections and propose monthly funding requests for program implementation in strict accordance with individual project budgets and in view of the overall consolidate budget;
- Undertake and monitor expenses against agreed budget lines, prevent and report financial irregularities and mismanagement to Executive Board Members.
- Analysis the Quick Book data and generate the financial report.
- Prepare financial analytical reports as per instructions of line supervisor
- Ensure timely submission of financial reports involving expenditure and income for submission to senior management and donors on monthly, quarterly, six month and annual basis;
- Work closely with the SDO’s program director and provincial managers to monitor program budgets
- Prepare and maintain annual account reconciliation for external audits of SDO
Job Requirement
Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:
- At least 3 years of experience in Finance, Having experience with NGOs preferred
- Having experience in citizen charter and NSP projects
- Good working knowledge of QuickBooks
- Good organizational and management skills
- Good analytical capacity attention to details and accuracy
- Fluent in spoken and written Dari, Pashto and English
- Good problem solving and decision making skills
- Ability in organizing work effectively and efficiently
- Good interaction with co-workers
- Honesty, integrity and reliability
