About Organization for Health Promotion and Management(OHPM): OHPM is committed to promote the lives of communities through provision of comprehensive and standardized health, education and development services; conducting trainings, researches, surveys and evaluations independently and/or collaboratively at local, national and international levels that would ultimately result in a sustainable well-being and self-reliance of vulnerable communities /age groups (Especially of the women of reproductive age and under five children). OHPM selected by the UNICEF and is responsible to delivering the HER (BPHS & EPHS) in Kapisa, Paktika, Helmand & Herat provinces and implementing other vertical projects in Khost, Parwan, Panjshir, Zabul, Nimroz and Kandahar provinces funded by the UNICEF, UNDP, UNFPA, WHO, WFP, OCHA, according to established and agreed targets (for quality and coverage), and thereby contribute to achieving the goals of the Ministry of Public Health which are to: Reduce maternal and newborn mortality, Reduce under 5 mortality, improve child health and nutrition.

Job Description

  • Assist the Finance Officer in preparing weekly, monthly and quarterly finance action plan and progressive reports according to the BPHS/EPHS work plans and ensure the timely implementation
  • Assist the Finance Officer to manage the overall financial management; maintain the operating cash log (Cash book) and the “cash on hand” in the safe place.
  • Assisting in the preparation of budgets, managing records and receipts, reconciling daily, monthly and yearly transactions, preparing balance sheets, processing invoices
  • Keep accurate records for all daily transactions, Prepare balance sheets, Process invoices, Record accounts payable and accounts receivable, Update internal systems with financial data
  • Assist the Finance Officer in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, Reconcile bank statements, Participate in financial audits, Track bank deposits and payments, Assist with budget preparation, Review and implement financial policies
  • Prepare payment vouchers prior to any payment, check and attach all supporting documents to the payment voucher
  • Prepare bid analysis and handover it to the logistic and admin manager.
  • Review invoices and statements and approve payment; supervise maintenance of and conduct checks on accounting records and documents to ensure accuracy and adequacy of information
  • Submit monthly invoices / reports to the OHPM’s main office or donors for reimbursements and settlement of financial expenditures.
  • Facilitate the conduction of annual and project audits, for internal and/or external auditors, Monitor and follow up the budget of project financial activities in a monthly base.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by the line manager.

Job Requirement

Degree: A Bachelor level qualification in finance, commerce, economics, accounting or business

Experience: At least 3 Years’ work experience in financial management with government or non-government organizations or UN Agencies;

Other skills:

  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Good Written and Verbal Communication Skills
  • Ability to analyze financial reports and perform data analysis for completeness, integrity and accuracy. 
  • Excellent knowledge of English & local languages, good communication and counseling skills,
  • Having proper leadership skills
  • Respect confidentiality of organization
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to create a supportive working relationship with all teams
  • Ability to work under pressure
