About Afghan Family Guidance Association |AFGA: Afghan Family Guidance Association (AFGA) is an Afghan non-governmental, not-for-profit and non-political organization established in 1968. AFGA has been working in the field of Reproductive health and Rights since its inception and has recently become an associate member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). AFGA activities were suspended due to war and conflict in the country for ten years (1992-2002) and resumed its activities in 2002 with financial support from International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). IPPF is an alliance of 151 family planning associations known as Member Associations which has projects in over 180 countries. IPPF continues to be the largest civil society provider of reproductive health information and services in the world.
Job Description
- Setting up and maintaining ultrasound equipment
- Performing ultrasound examinations on patients
- Producing images resulting from the ultrasound examinations
- Interpreting ultrasound images to aid patient diagnosis
- Carrying out training on ultrasound equipment for other healthcare professionals
- Addressing patients’ concerns before, during and after ultrasound examinations
- Keeping up to date records of scans performed and images produced
- Referring patients to other healthcare professionals and facilities, when necessary
- Soothing and reassuring nervous or anxious patients
- Strict observance of personal hygiene, work place, related tools and accessories.
- Strict adherence to aseptic and antiseptic conditions.
- Having full knowledge and accurate implementation of patients' orders or doctor's recommendations.
- Regular and active attendance at breakfast meetings.
- Correct and healthy maintenance of equipment and supplies.
- Preparing and submitting a regular monthly report
- Participation in efforts to understand the goals of the Polyclinic for clients and the community.
- Participating in workshops or courses held to improve professional knowledge.
- Try to create a friendly atmosphere between personnel and patients.
- Wearing sanitary uniform at work
- Adherence to all organizational policies and procedures as outlined in RIs’ policies and procedure manuals.
- Conduct him/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to RI and not to jeopardize its humanitarian mission.
- Strict compliance with the laws and regulations of the organization
- Any other tasks assigned by program department
Administration:
- Maintain organized hard and soft files of projects;
- Prepare reports to program and Finance department with regards to the services provided, and payment clearance as per visited clients.
Job Requirement
- MD with specialty in Ultrasonography degree
- At least 3 years work experience in Ultrasound section of a hospital.
- Preferably with international donor-funded projects or NGO's on relevant programs in Afghanistan.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Fluency in Dari and Pashto. Excellent English.
