Job Description

  • Empower communities, families, and children on children's rights and make them committed to preventing harmful practices to child survival and protection
  • Conduct community dialogues and engage caregivers and individuals through interpersonal channels on lifesaving practices and available services
  • Collect feedback from affected populations
  • Produce human-interest stories and videos on program interventions
  • Organize press visits from program interventions
  • Prepare lists of participants, session plans, success stories, survey questions, kobo toolbox, and community feedback report; obtain a letter of consent of video clips, photos and media information
  • Support the transition from 3rd party to partnerships with CSOs/NGOs at the zonal and provincial levels
  • Provide support to new partners in all the provinces
  • Work closely with the UNICEF Zonal office and outposts in building the capacity of new partners on planning and implementation of SBC interventions
  • Participate in EPR and related meetings as and when required
  • Support emergency activities, including supplies training and data collection as requested
  • Support UNICEF regional SBC team and partners in capacity building of partners and key stakeholders
  • Build the capacity of social mobilizers, M&E, and project staff of new partners on SBC interventions, AAP
  • Support the training and orientation of key stakeholders and networks (religious leaders, CHWs etc.) by partners
  • Support partners in the training/orientation of Social Media activities and monitor their activities during social media campaigns for promoting key integrated behaviors, as and when required
  • Facilitate and support in building the capacity of Qaharmanan (Youth network) and ensure their activities are coordinated and integrated with related SBC interventions by partners in the region
  • Ensure coordination between programs, FBOs and religious leaders and the Department of Religious Affairs

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree in social sciences or related field, Master's degree preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in social and behavior change communication (SBCC) programming in Afghanistan
  • Experience in working with local communities, religious leaders, and CSOs/NGOs
  • Knowledge of child rights and child protection programming in Afghanistan
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in English and local languages (Dari, Pashto) is required.
  • Willing to travel to the northern provinces.
