Job Description
About the position:
The Project Manager is the official representative of Amiri Medical Complex for this particular project and oversees the smooth running of the project activities. He/she is responsible for planning, leadership, implementation of all activities included in the project proposal. He/she monitors projects staff, ensuring that they are progressing in accordance with the project goal and complying with internal and contractual procedures. He/she leads the process of mapping the locations, selecting Ccommunity Health Workers (CHWs), establishing training unit, training CHWs, deploying CHWs, establishing Health Posts. Additionally, he/she is responsible for coordination of the project activities with the Ministry of Public Health, different units of the hospital and other involved stakeholders. The project manager reports to the hospital director.
Major Responsibilities:
- Represent Amiri Hospital when liaising with the MoPH and other partners.
- Coordinate the project activities with the MoPH, local health actors and others.
- Develop the project plan and ensure that the plan is implemented.
- Carry out mapping of the catchment area of the hospital together with CHW trainers and select CHWs for training.
- Prepare mapping report of the catchment areas of the hospital and submit to both hospital director and donor.
- Supervise activities of CHW training unit and ensure that the training models are according to the project objectives and MoPH standards.
- Build capacity of the project staff by regular meetings, coaching/mentoring and monitoring.
- Supervise social mobilizer activities and ensure that the social mobilization sessions are carried out as per project objectives.
- Prepare supply list for CHWs(HPs), prepare supply kits and supply health posts in a quarterly basis.
- Supervise the activities of CHWs and ensure that they are working according to the ToR.
- Supervise the activities of CHW training unit.
- Ensure that the training unit is supplied with the necessary training materials.
- Coordinate with the hospital different units to connect them with HPs and receive their patients.
- Prepare schedule for CHW practical activities in coordination with CHW trainers, hospital units and ensure that the CHWs received proper practical training.
- Ensure that the project procurement and financial activities are carried out in accordance with the donor procedures and guidelines.
- Prepare and submit the project monthly, quarterly and annual report.
Job Requirement
Professional Qualification and Experience:
- A bachelor degree in the relevant field is required,
- At least 3 years of experience in project management is required and experience of CHW training is an asset.
