Job Description
Position summary:
The Reproductive Health (RH) Officer is responsible for the effective, qualitative, and efficient implementation of Youth & Adolescent Program activities. She/he will be responsible for the capacity building of project staff, CSOs and youth peer groups facilitators on reproductive health for the elimination of GBV, early and child marriages and monitoring capacity gaps for ensuring quality program delivery and reporting.
Specific duties and responsibilities:
- The RH Officer is responsible to implement and monitor project work plan using DIP as a tool to ensure that SRHR component of project is on track
- Ensure that the goals and objectives of the project are met as per the project proposal, work plan and M&E Plan
- Prepares and follow up health awareness peer group sessions on RH
- Ensure collection and submission of RH data to the RH specialist and project manager
- Identify cases needing referral and refer them in timely manner for further support needed
- Identify Sexually Gender Based Violence victims and collaborate with the project team and other partner staffs for treatment and referral
- Work towards quality data management system for the Project
- Keep RH program activity records both in soft and hard copies and provide activity reports as required by WC and the donor on timely manner
- RH Officer will proactively engage with CSOs and peer-based youth networks and establish linkage between Community Based Child Protection Mechanism (CBCPM) and shuras to contribute towards the quality of programs
- Conduct SRHR methodology training and child protection trainings to project staff including CSOs and provide timely support in rolling out of same trainings to the peer groups facilitators, CBCPM and beneficiaries.
- He/she will conduct weekly and monthly supervision of overall program activities including CSOs performances. He /she is required to have at least 3 to 4 field visits every month, submitting reports to supervisor at the end of each visit.
- Provide inputs in quality donor reporting including data and information required by the donor and WC management on ad hoc basis
- support to the project team in development of Terms of References, Guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for working with affected people
- Other tasks as assigned by the Project Manager and WC Management
Job Requirement
Qualification:
Academic Background and Knowledge/ Experience
- Master’s Degree preferably in relevant disciplines (e.g., public health, humanitarian studies, gender studies, international relations, social work) with Two years relevant experience,
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (described above) with five years of relevant experience.
- Additional qualification or certificate in (public health, health management, family planning, RH etc)
MD degree with specialization
Skills
- Excellent communication skills both in writing and oral including presentation, networking, and interpersonal skills: English, Pashto, Dari
- Excellent computer, MS office skills
- Flexibility and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Good reporting writing skills
- Culturally sensitive
- Keep confidentiality and privacy
- Data management skills and familiar with applications e.g., Kobo and other related programs
