Job Description

Position summary:

Computer trainer will be responsible for developing or refine the training modules on computer programs including installing and maintaining computer systems functional. He/she will also “train” the adolescents and youths in MYC on computer programs such as MS Office, internet use, installation of software etc. He/ she must have a thorough knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks, and operating systems.

Specific duties and responsibilities:

  • Assess the youth’s capacity related to computer programs
  • Prepare a lesson plan based on the assessment findings
  • Develop computer training modules based on needs
  • Prepare computer training plan
  • Conduct computer training to adolescents and youths visiting MYCs
  • Assess the trainees on regular bases and provide feedback to trainees for improvement
  • Check computer hardware to ensure functionality.
  • Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to the specifications
  • Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance
  • Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
  • Provide orientation and guidance to the user on how to operate new software and computer equipment
  • Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance

  • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose, and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Project Manager 

Job Requirement

Qualification:

Academic Background and Knowledge/ Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in relevant disciplines (e.g., computer science, Information Technology, software development) with four years of working experience,
  • Additional qualification or certification of IT and computer programs  
  • In-depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
  • Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles

  Skills

  • Excellent communication skills both in writing and oral including presentation, networking, and interpersonal skills: English, Pashto, Dari
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Should be familiar with the area’s cultural traditions and its sensitiveness
  • Good reporting writing skills 
  • Data management skills and familiar with applications e.g., Kobo and other related programs
