About Afghan Women Skills Development Center (AWSDC): The Afghan Women Skills Development Center (AWSDC) founded in 1999 is a national non-governmental organization (NGO), dedicated to the promotion and protection of the rights of women in Afghanistan and supporting Afghans to live in peace. AWSDC key thematic focus areas are Peacebuilding, Women Rights/GBV, Livelihoods, WASH and Humanitarian Response. The organization geographical areas are Kabul, Kunduz, Faryab, Herat, Balkh and Samangan Provinces. The organization since the startup of first wave of COVID-19 has provided humanitarian assistance to nearly 65,000 COVID-19 affected men, women and children under its geographical areas. Likewise, AWSDC is one of Humanitarian Actors that provides protection, WASH and Emergency Shelter and None food items to vulnerable Afghanistan across the country. AWSDC in response to the humanitarian crisis is scaling up its interventions to serve more people through provision of life savings assistance, GBV, WASH, Food/None Food Items. Recently AWSDC has aligned its strategic priorities to the address the acute deficits of affected population through provision of protection services, WASH, Food Assistance and NFIs in Afghanistan. AWSDC is in the process to recruit access focal point to support the project team in the implementation of Women Protection project in Bamyan Province.
Job Description
AWSDC is in the process to hire competent staff to implement Women Protection project in Bamyan, Province. The focus of the project is to establish and run one women community center to provide women and girls skills with recreational activities, facilitate timely and confidential referrals, provision of GBV core principles and PSS firs aid training to donor’s implementing partners based in Bamyan, conduct dialogue sessions with community leaders and increase community awareness on women and girls protection and the type of services provided by AWSDC under the project.
Position Summary:
The position holder (Access focal point) will be responsible for coordination with De Facto Authorities, for processing project registration, signing MoU, reporting and linkages building. In addition to this ensure safety and security of the project staff and safe implementation project activities in Bamyan. The staff will be placed in AWSDC Provincial office in Bamyan.
Job Requirement
- Ensure timely processing of project registration, coordination with sub-national De facto Authorities (DfA).
- Identify and eliminate problems and obstacles in the way of access to project implementation sites and ensure the safe access of project staff to project implementation lead.
- Identify potential threats and violence against project staff and stakeholders.
- Establish coordination between project manager and other project stakeholders (CDCs, community elders, mullahs and Shuras).
- Full knowledge of the project, including (amount of assistance, project duration and how to select beneficiaries), description of the project for local officials.
- Continuous coordination of project activities with local officials and elders.
- Provide a report on the status of access to the covered areas to the project manager on an ongoing basis.
- Timely awareness of the project manager and project staff of potential hazards and threats.
- The performance of other duties assigned by the competent authorities is entrusted to the rules, regulations, goals and policies of the organization.
- Any other tasks assigned by the project manager.
Required Qualification and Experience:
- University Degree
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experiences with national and/or international NGOs
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills and rapport building
- Fully understanding processing of project registration and coordination with provincial authorities.
- Understanding (reading and writing basic English)
- Problem solving and good communication skills
- Committed and punctual
- Solid Computer skills and competency in word, Excel as a minimum
