Job Description

Job Summary:

The aim of this program is to strengthen the ability of local leaders including; women’s rights activists, religious leaders, and CSO activists, to enable them to promote social cohesion, accountability, and women’s rights within their communities.

EPDO’s work aims to:

  • Increase competencies (knowledge, skills, tools) related to social cohesion and women’s rights from a progressive Islamic perspective among local leaders participating in the development and peace-building work.
  • Increase economic resilience among women through skills training.
  • Increase awareness among people on the importance of social cohesion and women’s rights from a progressive Islamic perspective and increase levels of trust between local structures and the communities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Support and work closely with the project manager to take responsibility for the overall project and operations in his/her province
  2. Support the project manager to prepare and submit narrative reports and work plans
  3. Support the project manager to organize monthly monitoring and supervision visit plans
  4. Support the project management team in the mapping of LACs
  5. Organize monthly LACs meetings and coordination meetings 
  6. Organize capacity-building training of LAC members
  7. Organize community dialogues with the people
  8. Resolve cases through advocacy to promote social cohesion, accountability and women/s rights under Sharia at the community level
  9. Provide skills training and women’s rights under Sharia law training to the selected beneficiaries
  10. Organize Town-hall meetings
  11. Organize community outreach sessions on social cohesion and women’s rights under Sharia law
  12. Support in the promotion of understanding of community people on social cohesion and women’s rights under Sharia through radio programs
  13. Participate in and support the monitoring and evaluation of the project to identify the impact and
  14. Perform any other task assigned by the project manager

Job Requirement

  • University degree with at least two years of relevant work experience
  • Good English writing and speaking knowledge, and the capability to operate a computer
  • Fluency in the two main National languages, Pashto & Dari (writing, speaking, and comprehension)
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders
  • Effective communication and writing skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as an effective team member
