About Organization for Health Promotion and Management(OHPM): OHPM is committed to promote the lives of communities through provision of comprehensive and standardized health, education and development services; conducting trainings, researches, surveys and evaluations independently and/or collaboratively at local, national and international levels that would ultimately result in a sustainable well-being and self-reliance of vulnerable communities /age groups (Especially of the women of reproductive age and under five children). OHPM selected by the UNICEF and WHO and is responsible to delivering the SEHATMANDI BPHS & EPHS in Kapisa, Paktika and Helmand provinces and implementing other vertical projects in Khost, Parwan, Panjshir and Kandahar provinces funded by the UNICEF, UNDP, UNFPA, WHO, WFP, according to established and agreed targets (for quality and coverage), and thereby contribute to achieving the goals of the Ministry of Public Health which are to: Reduce maternal and newborn mortality, Reduce under 5 mortality, improve child health and nutrition.
Job Description
- The project officer is responsible for all implementation aspects of the project at the provincial level,
- Acts as the focal point for all project related issues and is responsible for proper coordination among all concerned stakeholders,
- Responsible for continues coordination of staff, stockholders, beneficiaries, local community and oversees correct and on time implementation of all components of the project,
- Support and follow-up on the implementation of project activities in accordance with proposed activities and with Project Manager's instructions,
- Conduct field visits as necessary to monitor project implementation,
- Manage all donor requirements and specifications, including the preparation of all progress reports,
- Oversee monitoring and evaluation of the project ensuring achievement of program indicators,
- Initiate and conduct regular coordination meetings with relevant project team members,
- Lead planning and guide staff in effective implementation of the project activities in the province,
- Ensure timely and appropriate reporting on project activity to the Project Manager,
- Participation in all provincial related meetings,
- Preparing and submitting weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to project manager and concerned authorities.
- Any other duties as assigned by the line manager.
Job Requirement
- Afghan National
- Medical Doctor (MD), preference will be given to the candidates with post graduate degree.
- At least 5 Years’ work experience in managerial capacity with government or Non-government organization, UN Agencies or other development organizations in health management or relevant positions.
- Proven skills in using online and offline databases
- Ability to work under pressure, flexible and able to multi-task,
- Ability to create a supportive working relationship with all project teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English language and fluent in local languages;
- Ability to work on Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Travel to Helmand & Kapisa provinces and its districts is must
