About Rehabilitation Association and Agriculture Development for Afghanistan (RAADA): Rehabilitation Association and Agriculture Development for Afghanistan (RAADA) started its humanitarian activities in 2002. As a local Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), RAADA started working in Herat Province and extended its activities in western Afghanistan (Herat, Farah, Ghor, and Badghis Provinces) with the Vision “Poverty no Longer Exists in the World” and the Mission Statement “Mitigating Poverty and Contributing to Reconstruction and Development Process in Afghanistan through Community-based Solutions and Interventions” Having a good analysis of the community needs, qualified staff, and sound management procedures, RAADA has designed and implemented various projects on Livelihood, Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, Human Rights, Women Empowerment, Disaster Risk Reduction, Water Supply, Health and Hygiene with the financial support it has received from CAID, JICA, Tawanmandi-DFID, US Embassy, UNHCR, WAR CHILD UK, UNFAO, WFP, WHH, DRC, Italian Cooperation, IRC and CRS.

Job Description

  • Financial record-keeping.
  • Designing monthly budgets with the close coordination of RAADA's admin-finance manager
  • Designing monthly liquidation plans with the close coordination of RAADA's admin-finance manager
  • Reviewing monthly expenses vs. budget and analyzing variances and monitoring and analyzing expenses according to the budget.
  • Preparing and processing vouchers, reviewing bills, and allocating them to their relevant project budget line and codes.
  • Monitoring and posting of transactions to the accounting package.
  • Preparing financial reports for the project.
  • Preparing monthly financial statements, cash flow statements, and bank reconciliations.
  • Communication and handling the bank and suppliers related issues
  • Direct reporting to RAADA's Finance Manager or his designated person
  • Reconciling daily and monthly transactions
  • Monthly tax reports and payments to the Government
  • Prepare and maintain cash books
  • Preparing cash and Bank Reconciliations
  • Fund request with the assistance of the finance manager
  • Maintain accounting-related data and documents in the hard and soft filing system
  • Prepare vouchers for book-keeping and indicate their cost classification
  • Verify the correctness of vouchers, including supporting documents
  • Preparing all necessary attachments for the closing of the monthly account.
  • Provide necessary documents and reports for internal controlling

Job Requirement

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor/Master's degree in Finance or a related field from an approved university
  • Accounting/Finance knowledge and 3 years of working experience
  • Computer skills, MS Office package, QuickBooks
  • Working experience with NGOs. 
  • Excellent communication skills: speaking, writing, and listening.
  • Ability to set priorities and manage time effectively.
  • Proficiency in English and other local languages
  • Analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work both independently and as an effective team member.
  • Professionalism in appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to travel to the project site (Pashtoon Zarghoon, Zindajan, and Injil districts)

Reporting to:

The finance officer will be directly reporting to Admin-Finance Manager.
