About Rural Rehabilitation Association for Afghanistan (RRAA): Rural Rehabilitation Association for Afghanistan (RRAA) is a non-profit, non-governmental, and non-political NGO established in 1990. The head office of the organization is located in Kabul, Afghanistan, and delivers humanitarian services in the sectors of WASH, Good governance, Emergency, and Livelihood through its four regional offices in Mazar, Herat, Jalalabad, and central zone in a decentralized manner. This project, which is planned to be implemented by RRAA, is a UNICEF-funded project providing winterization assistance to the most vulnerable households in Cheghcheran, Dulaina, Dowlatyar, Char sada, Lal wa sarjangal and Murghab districts of Ghor province.

Job Description

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues that are related to Tablet, laptop computers, as well as all IT devices (mobiles, projectors, printers scanners, copiers etc.)
  • Ensure regular maintenance of IT equipment such as servers, switches, routers, firewalls, laptops, printers, scanners etc.
  • Assist staff in using Microsoft Office package if requested.
  • Assist and train staff in using Data collection tools (KOBO etc).
  • Manages and maintains wireless and LAN networks.
  • Monitor internet bandwidth upload/download and huge internet usage on daily basis
  • Maintains all IT devices hardware and software database/inventory
  • Ensure that all communication systems are functional and used by staff in an appropriate manner.
  • Train staff on the importance of data protection and data protection laws
  • Make sure the data are collected, analyzed and recorded properly
  • Develop data reports when required
  • Ensure the safety of data and create regular back up plans
  • Perform any other program administrative and data management task
  • Develop and maintain an organized filing system.
  • Any other duty assigned by the Project Manager

Job Requirement

  • 2 years of experience in the IT sector and data collection
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as a team player
  • Fluent in Pashto and Dari with skills in English
  • Good self-starter with effective time management skills and high levels of organization
  • Strong skills in coordinating and collaborating with others in partnership
  • Positive, solution-driven, respectful and with a ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Strong IT skills (Network administrator and good knowledge of Microsoft windows and Office packages)
  • Experience working in humanitarian emergencies across multiple areas of Afghanistan
  • Previous experience in NNGOs/INGOs, UN etc.
  • Ability to travel in the targeted districts
