About Social and Humanitarian Assistance Organization: Social & Humanitarian Assistance Organization (SHAO) is a non-government, non-profit humanitarian social welfare organization. SHAO is registered as an Afghan NGO with Ministry of Economy (MoEc), Government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. SHAO was founded on 22 January 2009. SHAO is based in Kandahar and has implemented projects in the Southern, central and northern regions of Afghanistan. SHAO has implemented projects in child protection, community education, gender equity, WASH, health/hygiene, capacity building, livelihood and advocacy. SHAO is currently working in different provinces of Afghanistan, mainly focusing on mitigating the effects of COVID-19, internal displacement, cross-border illegal immigration on the vulnerable communities. With the ensuing situation in the country SHAO has targeted its programing focus on child protection, gender mainstreaming and youth participation.
Job Description
The project involves implementation of Schools Improvement Plan (SIP) in 50 schools and re-opening of100 closed schools in Kandahar and Urozgan. The project involves the repair of educational equipment in some schools of Nimroz
JOB SUMMARY:Social supervisor will work closely with target school management and school management Shura to introduce the project school support objectives and prioritize the school requirements.The social supervisor will actively participate in the establishment of the relevant committees, organize need assessments, distributions, capacity building activities and serve as a project focal-point to the school management and shuras
REPORTING: Reports to Provincial Project Manager
Job Requirement
Responsibilities:
- Follow the instructions of project manager and project provincial manager to collect data from school management, conduct needs assessment and implement project activities.
- Work in close coordination with school management, school Shura and UNICEF focal points to implement the project activities on school levels.
- Maintain communications with PED and DED relevant departments on project works implemented in the target schools
- Work in close coordination with safety manager, civil engineer, electrician and other technical staff implementing project activities in the target schools.
- Provide report and technical advice on solving the restraints and grievances arising among project beneficiaries, stakeholders and donor representatives in the field
- Carry out other tasks to support the achievement of the project mandate and objectives, as directed by the project manager.
DUTY STATION: This position is based in the provincesof Kandahar,Nimroz and Urozgan with possible travels among destinations.
