About CRDSA: Coordination of Rehabilitation and Development Services for Afghanistan (CRDSA) is a not-for-profit, non-sectarian and non-political humanitarian organization that was established in 2002 by a team of Afghan volunteers interested in serving afghan vulnerable people. CRDSA is providing services for Afghan people in sectors of Sustainable Livelihoods, Civil Society Strengthening, Returnees/IDPs Re-integration and Protection and Human Rights Promotion. Presently, CRDSA is operating in 7 provinces of Afghanistan including Herat, Kabul, Farah, Ghor, Nimrooz, Urozgan and Badghis.
Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing CFS services in the CFSs.
- Assists in developing and maintaining an environment that promotes physical, social and emotional development through arts, crafts, games and other child friendly activities.
- Identify vulnerable children for PSS support through static and mobile services.
- Assist in identification and refer of children in need of case management to CP actors on a regular basis.
- Design and implement recreational and psychosocial support (PSS) activities, actively involving children (with a strong focus on child’s specific needs and vulnerabilities).
- Ensure that children get all necessary support during the activities and that rules and discipline are set up in a positive and constructive way.
- Prepare activities plan/schedule and arrange materials needed for the activities.
- Collect information (attendance sheets, questionnaires, etc.) and report identified cases of children with specific needs/extremely vulnerable to the Psychosocial Officer.
- Ensure safety and wellbeing of the children at the CFS and as well as the environment
- Ensure that all games and equipment are available and counted at the end of the day and ensure children are using the games and equipment in a proper way and rotation system.
- Play a vital role in setting up and running recreational activities for children using various individual and team games, and storytelling enabling access to information, child protection messages.
- Ensure child safeguarding checklists is followed in the in the child friendly space.
- Support children to understand the feedback mechanism and use it to provide their feedback in confidential and safe manner and ensure responses are provided to children on timely basis.
- Other duties assigned by the line manager.
Job Requirement
- Experiences with working inside Child Friendly Space is preferable.
- High school graduation (Bachelor Degree in social science, phycology, sociology is preferred)
- One year of similar working experience in Child Protection with I/NGOs is preferred.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including active listening skills
- Ability to allocate and review priorities to meet the deadlines Ability to identify problems ad resolutions
- Able to work independently with little supervision, reliable, trustworthy, and committed to team’s success
